Terence Crawford had just put on a masterful and destructive performance in a fight for the undisputed WW title. There hasn’t been a one sided beating at this level on the same weight class since Donald Curry dispatching Milton McCrory.

How does the Crawford that we just saw against Spence do against Curry that fought Colin Jones and Milton McCrory?

Curry would be a lot harder for Crawford to beat than Spence was.

Curry is taller, has a better jab, quicker hands than Crawford IMO, and the type of power that could hurt Crawford really badly. Not to say Crawford has no chance, because he could definitely weather an early storm and potentially drown Curry late, but I wouldn’t be confident about that.

I'd go with Bud over Curry. The talent level is comparable. The intangibles are not comparable. Bud is mentally tougher than Curry by a mile. That would be the difference. Bud also has different gears. Curry only had one gear, but in his prime that one gear was very impressive.

    I wouldn't go that far. I wouldn't say it's a ridiculous opinion, but I disagree.

84-85 Curry peaked higher than prime Spence.

Strictly sticking to the topic, I would also add that Crawford's ring IQ is a lot higher than Curry's.

I don't think Don Curry was a particularly smart fighter. That's relative of course, as I'm not saying he was a dumb fighter like Khan or Judah, but he wasn't on par with a Leonard, Duran, or Bud in terms of ring intelligence.

Curry’s talent definitely outweighed his mental toughness and ring IQ. He wasn’t a dumb fighter. But I think he was the type of guy that when you made him uncomfortable he would eventually fall apart.

Curry was a very technically sound fighter, with very quick hands and very long arms. He had decent pop and got away with a lot others couldn't, but he made stupid mistakes and was punished because of them on multiple occasions.

Can't see a Crawford fight going any other way.
