    maybe ever.

Casamayor couldn't have won more than 2 rounds. He did nothing, less than nothing, and then got pummeled the entire time.

    What a horrendous gift.

    my goodness

I agree, utterly fucked up. A 10-2 type fight with a 10-8 round too. Beyond belief.

Quite simply they shouldn't be able to get away with this.

that was a garbage fight. santa cruz wasn't exactly landing a shitload of clean shots. I've seen worse decisions where more deserving guys than him lost.

there is some truth to this. prior to the decision, i was racking my brain trying to come up with worse "linear" champs in boxing history than SC.

True enough. But the fact is, he won the fight clearly.

    I've seen worse decisions.

Cruz didn't land alot of clean shots, Casa showed good D throughout the fight... still should have lost though..

That doesn't really matter though. I guess the point is, you can't make an argument that Casa won 5 rounds, let alone 7, so the other guy was flat out robbed.

Casa won the 5th round in a fashion I suspect he won a lot of other rounds, by timing the flailing SC.

PS Setanta is on a time delay, is Sky showing it live??? There isn't much of a delay. 1 hour.

Santa Cruz has the fluidity of a brick. He looks so bad, its easy to score rounds against him.

Hey i agree. SC WON that fight. A KD means that Cassa had to win 7 rounds to win the fight. He didn't.

    I couldn't AGREE more.

After this fight WHO wants to see Casa fight again?! Juan Diaz should look elsewhere for a better challenge, but he won't, right now that is easy money. Too bad there won't be much of it because the channels won't pay much to see Casa fight, so maybe he WILL look elsewhere.

you guys act like santa cruz fought a great fight. he had a rusty 40 year old in front of him and he was still largely ineffective.

    I'd rather see diaz-margarito

I gave Casamayor one round with Santa Cruz winning 11 and the bullshit knockdown, Santa Cruz beat Casa so bad they couldn't rob him, but somehow they did anyway.
SC was beating Casa orthodox, and landing all kinds of clean left hooks to the head, he switched southpaw then was landing straight lefts, he just couldn't hurt or stop Casa. On the inside, it was SC with his long arms landing to the body and in the clinch it was the same.

I liked watching the fight as Casa got his ass kicked, robbery or not I'd watch Casa get his ass kicked again and again.

that is whay I always thought the Ring was so bullshit.

Steward and Kellerman had the same argument regarding Floyd and the linear 147 championship.

Steward feels after fighting Baldomir he hasn't fought a Welterweight. He went up to fight Oscar and now he fights Hatton coming up.

Steward says if Floyd wins he has to fight Cotto to still be considered the best 147 out there. I also agreed.

Kellerman says Floyd is still the linear champion regardless of who he fights.

It's the same with Casamayor. Everyone considers Juan Diaz the best. But that ring belt somehow it's supposed to make the best.:dunno:

    I didn't even score it.

Problem is both fighters were so ineffective.

But the fact is, Santa Cruz was landing more shots (even if they weren't as clean or crisp or sharp), especially over the second half of the fight.

SC was much more consistent...and Casa, when he generated offense, wasn't as accurate as he needed to be to make a great "quality vs. quantity" argument.

    Felt like a terrible decision.

    Peace.

no he's not. he beat the shit out of d. diaz unti he got caught, and beat cherry. and who said anything about katsidis? i'm assuming the winner of this fight was in line for shot at juan that's all. and considering this decision, apparently, if casa bear hugs juan enough times he'll win a decision.
