    Hatton scuffles with Mayweather

Ricky Hatton had to be pulled apart from Floyd Mayweather as their media conference threatened to boil over.

"There's a time to laugh and joke and be my usual sarcastic self but the fight's two days away now and I've done my laughing and joking," said Hatton.

"When I leaned on him he said, 'Don't touch me'. I gave him a 'you're dead' gesture then I smiled. If he's annoyed at that, wait till the bell rings."

The pair fight for the WBC welterweight crown on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

The physical confrontation came at the end of a stare-out between the two fighters that lasted two full minutes.

Mayweather and Hatton shoved each other back and forwards with their chests before being kept apart by handlers.

The American swore several times at Hatton, who winked and ran his finger slowly across his throat.

Hatton said: "These kind of mind games aren't my thing, but he was pushing me."

Hatton is convinced he has managed to get under the skin of a fighter who clearly revels in his enormous self-confidence and seemed visibly perturbed by his rival's antics.

"I think Floyd preys on that confidence and that's why he did it. I think it'll hurt him more than me. I'll go away and forget about it now but I think he might be seething," he added.

Mayweather spent most of the news conference with his every move being cheered by a handful of followers who help massage the fighter's confidence each day.

And in his usual confident style he said: "He can't get under my skin. I'm not at all worried about that. We will see if it's an advantage. I'm not shaking.

"When I went over to the UK they threw bottles at me, rocks at my car, giving me the finger. And he says I'm disrespecting him?

"I've been there plenty of times. I know what it takes. Just another day for me, I've been here so many times.

"Come Saturday night you'll see a Floyd Mayweather that shows versatility, inside, outside, toe-to-toe," added Mayweather.

Check the link for a grainy vid...the wobble in Floyds voice is noticeable.

    PS...WHERE THE FUCK IS REED???

I think he has bottled it.

To me it seems that Mayweather has gotten under Hatton's skin. Mayweather always acts this way before a fight, but Hatton does not.

I don't really think it will make a difference in the ring, so it's not a big deal.

Mayweather has wobble in his voice. Hatton by comparison was very very calculating and precise. Floyd seemed to be rambling. I really think Ricky has this fucking guy by the balls.

Oh I don't think it will make a difference in the ring either. Its more that we have advance notice OF WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN IN THE RING.

This is Duran-Leonard I all over again.

Mayweather is going to get pissed and try to do Rickys thing.

Anyways, Mods can close this if they want. I just wanted to make sure people that don't have Cable got to see the scuffle.

If there's one thing PBF has NEVER done, it's sacrifice his game plan and what it takes to win in HIS MIND to let emotions get the better of him.

    Don't bet on this happening.

Both guys will try to fight their fight.

    Peace.

That wasn't a scuffle. It was just Floyd pushing like a weak girl trying to come across as being a badass.

I actually think PBF has also got under Hatton's skin and the last time that happened was against Magee and he ended up on his ass early because he let his anger take over and the red mist descended. I hope he learned from that because against a better fighter he could have lost.

    In any case WAR HATTON

I have thought from the beginning that Floyd would outclass Hatton easily, but now I think Floyd might have to gut this one out.

I just hope for an entertaining fight!

Much ado about fuck all. That said, Ricky does seem to have the mental edge and has done since day one. But then, thats much like having a physical edge over Stephen Hawkins.

Hatton is going to be Luis Castillo at twice the ferocity. We saw how sh*t Floyd looked in there. Floyd is dead meat!

Wow, de la Hoya AND Hopkins are both picking the Golden Boy fighter to win?

What's next, Shane goes on record saying he believes Hatton will win?

De la Hoya gave Hatton advice - told him to constantly use the jab cos if there's one thing Mayweather can't do fuck-all about, it's the jab.

I think he was referring to the fact that he (De la Hoya) stopped using the jab midway through their fight.
