The Show Premiered Earlier this Week... Thoughts???...Opinions???... The Format is Bit more CUT-THROAT,this Season...They CUT 6 Guys on the 1st Episode:: ...Including "Name" Guys like Roshii Wells & Rubin Williams... REED Thinks this Season EASILY has the BEST Crop of Fighters,Top to Bottom... REED
I was glad about the six that went home. Rhoshii is shot AND has no business at 168. Bunteng sucks, Williams deserved to go home for showing up looking like the fat, lazy tub of shit that he is. Santiago's a light heavyweight, didn't belong there... I can't remember the other two who left, but remember not being very upset. I have mixed emotions about the cast, and it's similar to why I didn't care for last year, either. Both this year and last year are far more boxing-fan-friendly than Season 1, which was basically boxing's version of The Real World. I'm also glad that unedited versions of each fight will air immediately after the broadcast. But guys like Sam Soliman and Sakio Bika have already maxed out; there's no chance of them ever returning to the top level. Jaidon, David Banks and Wayne Johnsen still have room for growth, but all have already been exposed in one way or another. Donnie McCrary's 30 seconds of fame came and went with the Allan Green fight. That leaves Max Alexander, Paul Smith and Brian Vera. Vera's fun to watch. Not sure how far he'll go, but he already beat a couple of cats I thought he'd otherwise struggle with, if not lose outright. Smith has some upside, looking forward to seeing him progress. Alexander, theoretically, is still on the way up, though I have a feeling we've already seen all that he has to offer. On paper, it's a more impressive roster than Season 1, which had a lot of unknowns (at least outside the West Coast) and Season 2, which had far too many has-beens.
yeah, that's right, I remember we were talking about that when he fought Samuel Miller a few months ago. My homeboy fought on the same card. They were both supposed to lose (in Bobby Dobbs' mind, anyway :: ), but instead scored two for the blue corner.
funny, season 1 finalist got stopped in 3 rounds vs. calzaghe. season 3 participant already lost a decision to calzaghe. jaidon got stretched in a round vs allan green and mccrary also got KOed (although he almost KOed him and nearly gave joe tessitore a heart attack) roshi wells looked not only shot but brain damaged. santiago was in some serious denial when he said he could make 168.
Yeah,Makes U Wonder How Much he Weighed Weeks PRIOR to the Show... On the 1st Episode, Dude is 198,Trying to Make Supermiddle!!! :eeeek: REED::
i've seen santiago a few times. i remember when he stopped elvir muriqi in ny and he looked like a short but stalky light heavy. i doubt he would've gotten anywhere close to 170 let alone make 168. ::
i checked youtube, but the audio was really bad. I didn't hear monumental, though I'm sure Joe's used it elsewhere. But in making out what I could from the clip, it reminded me how funny he sounded - you can literally hear him spitting as he's screaming. ::
