Congratulations to both men for proving to the world they aren't really that shot. They both deserve some more paychecks. Unfortunately I didn't watch the fight because I'm in San Francisco. However, it's really unbelievable. A guy takes off 3-years, comes back to fight 10lbs higher than his last fight, and takes on the toughest, fastest, most unorthodox fighter and still puts on a show. What more can anybody ask for? Roy only landed 12 punches more than him too. Incredible performance from the Puerto Rican superstar. I'd like to see him come down to 168lbs and fight for a title. With a little more work and time to shake of the rust I think he can capture a title at that weight. As for Reed claiming Roy carried him. If he did then he's not a really fighter. Tito wouldn't have carried him. He's got a job to do. Do it, or go find yourself another job. Roy was just being the usual Roy, not taking risks and giving the fans nothing. But still, he won the fight so congrats to him. To don't diminish what Felix did. All of those years people said shit like Tito couldn't compete with Roy. hahahahahahha. He came out of retirement to prove you wrong. I hope to see both men in a few more good fights before they call it a career. Cupey
I even had credentials to see it in person. Unfortunately I fucked up and planned my vacation at the same time. :: Plus that shit was $50
Look at Tito in both knockdowns. His eyes are clear. He got hit by somebody that fought as high as 200lbs. Not to many welterweight champions would've even gotten up again. Cupey
so did i, but i ended up not going due to a family emergency. otherwise, i would've went and cheered for both guys. you didnt plan your vacation by accident. you knew well ahead when this fight was happening. ::
I seriously forgot. I was going to go in February but plans changed and with a good ticket price I jumped on it. A week later I was like DOH!
Afterward, Jones paid tribute to Trinidad's heart, telling him in the ring, "I can't believe you stayed in there 12 rounds with me. It was a great night and we put on a great fight. Everybody thought we were old."
But, isn't this like the 4th time Trinidad's been shown for what he really is - a one-dimensional plodding slugger. :dunno: The following have soundly outboxed Trinidad throughout the respective fights: De la Hoya at 147lb Hopkins at 160lb Wright at 160lb Jones Jr at 175lb
