The scheduled bout for the WBA heavyweight title between, 'Fast' Fres Oquendo and 'Mantits' Manuel Charr has been postponed. They were supposed to square off in the weekend after this but apparently Charr got busted for roids. I believe I am not the only one who was really looking forwards to this.
Considering I have zero fucks to give for the heavyweight division, I wouldn't have batted an eye if Joshua-Povetkin was cancelled.
I assumed Fres Oquendo retired years ago with his no stamina having, weak chinned, one hit wonder ass.
He is one weird guy for sure. 45 years of age, with a record of 37-8 and still his only defeat that wasn't disputable was the TKO against David Tua, back in 2002. Now, he was supposed to fight for the WBA strap after four-year layoff, his last fight being for the same title. Even more than about him, this nonsense tells you something about titlE beltS of course
The final chapter in the rivalry between Riddick “Ridickulous” Bowe and Andrew “Nut Punch” Golota is set for November 3rd in Lodz, Poland for the Rivalry Championship Wrestling “World Extreme Champion Emeritus of the World” world title of the world. FighBeat is naturally thrilled about this and is throwing considerable journalistic resources behind coverage of this bout. But why Poland rather than the USA or another Euro heavyweight country such as Germany? We spoke to sources close to the bout for answers. Poland is considered the best country to stage such as bout for a number of reasons. Firstly, the immense popularity of Riddick Bowe amongst the Polish community is well known. Bowe has reportedly capitalised on this by selling juniper berries from a roadside stall outside of Warsaw for many years. The Polish national food is said to be another key to the bout being held in Poland, with both men reportedly enjoying such delicacies as “Serce Wolowe w Sosie”, or braised beef heart along with boiled pig testicles and turnip for dessert. That said, the rules for this bout are currently a mystery. It is believed that asphyxiation is banned, however low blows are encouraged. For this reason, Andrew Golota is a red hot favourite with the bookies. FightBeat will be covering this bout in the leadup, with numerous feature articles.
