I go to the movies to watch spectacular brainless popcorn movies that can make me forget everything for two hours. Serious dramas? At home. If I get depressed I change the channel.

There was no way this film was gonna actually be “good.”

Sad thing is, it wasn’t even mildly entertaining.

Haha I quite like Statham, not a brilliant actor by any means but he knows his niche and has been in some fun films.

I like Statham also. He has a certain bad ass charisma to him, and as you said, he knows his niche.

Point being - this film had crap written all over it from the jump. Not because of Statham, because shark disaster movies have been done to DEATH and need to end.

For Christ Sake, find another animal to kill people!

But studios see the shark formula has been financially successful going all the way back to 75, so they keep making them.

I dunno why a hippo disaster movie has never been made. Hippos kill FAR more people than sharks do, and are just scarier animals in general.

I'd watch it. I love monster movies...it's my guilty pleasure. I like anything that has a big nasty creature or many creatures killing off large numbers of people. Don't ask me why...it's just very entertaining to me. All I want to know is this: is the body count huge?

Statham is a lot better in supporting roles. In smaller doses he is great .Him carrying a movie doesn't work out too well.

Damn! Forget that then. I only watch films like this to see multiple gruesome kills.
