The first fight went pretty much how I expected it to go. As I said before the fight...guaranteed distance fight which is close enough to give Canelo the benefit of the scoring. The 2nd fight plays out the same way, except this time it'll be even more controversial. Canelo by Split decision this time....with most fight beaters claiming daylight robbery.
GGG starts faster this time and wins more early rounds. Canelo steals some middle and late rounds by eye-catching spurts in the last minute. Neither guy is hurt just like the first fight. GGG looks to have won 7 rounds...but Canelo is awarded 7 rounds by two of the judges. So let it be written....
I expect ggg to make important adjustments. His approach sort of played into Canelo's hands (not that I though Canelo did much).
Golovkin wins comfortably. Again. Canelo is a good fighter but he just doesn't have the stamina to compete with GGG.
Canelo tries to be more aggressive early but after taking some fire, he'll revert to retreat mode and Triple G banks most of the rounds. Don't know how the judges will score it. But I think Golovkin wins again.
im not interested in this rematch. i no longer consider it a good gambling opportunity based on the first fight
Golovkin can't afford to be as patient as he was in the first fight, I think that is what cost him. I know that's his style but he has to close the range quicker this time.
I wasn't at all impressed with GGG in the first fight. He missed a HELL of shots and Canelo landed almost all of the flashy power punches. G just kept coming and missing and Canelo only fought in spurts but when he did throw he landed what he wanted. G displayed ININEFFECTIVE aggression and Canelo displayed lack of ability to fight 3 minutes at a time. The only thing G impressed with was the chin.
