FightBeat will always be near and dear to my heart, no doubt. But let me say this as respectfully as I possibly can, as I respect Karl's hustle and effort in this...

This makes three articles and a video on this guy, yet to face a marginal LHW test and still not even a legit Top 10 contender, in little over two months, and now threatening to come back with exclusive fight coverage. In that same span:

Hopkins-Wright got a pre-fight write up, and a half-assed post-fight recap in the News section, quickly buried under press releases.

    Diaz-Morales got a News section post-fight recap, followed by a full-length at-the-scene report.

    Hatton-Castillo got a two-paragraph after the fact TiVoe'd recap.

Vazquez-Marquez II - the leading candidate for FOTY - was limited to a 3-paragraph recap buried in the news section

    Cotto-Judah went virtually ignored.

As far as feature content goes (as in, not stuff shoved into the News section), Henry's received more than all five fights combined. I'm just sayin'...

A little too much hype for my blood, but it was still fun.

You really need to get off the whole Tarver sparring issue. If beating on Tarver in sparring makes Henry the next Bob Foster, then Jaidon Codrington and Prince Badi Adjamu are Michael Spinks and Tommy Loughrin.

    WAR HENRY! hhahahahaha

I agree that some of the folks have been a little lazy with doing recaps but you know as well as me how hard it is to get people to write when they aren't covering an event.

On the other side of the coin, let's be fair to Fightbeat Did anybody even cover Rahman-Peter Press conference. - FightBeat was there and provided free video

How about the Black Tie even featuring Salita and Michael Grant- Fightbeat was there and provided free video

FightBeat is covering MMA and providing a MMA Radio Show and interviews with MMA fighters.

FightBeat doesn't have 200 pop-ups poping up per visit or more advertising than Times Square nor does it require registration or payment.

Fightbeat has been all over the Euro scene and soon will be building the Asian scene.

But you cover whatever you get access too and people are willing to do for free.

Umm Jake u know that it's easier to get a low profile fighter to be there for ya 24/7 don't u??

When has this been different here - there were always some C-Level scrubs getting too much attention on this page... :dunno:

BTW - that shit is funny as hell, Karl should be on TV or at least have his own youtube show or something... and i like how he's smiling for a millisecond in between and not taking it too serious...

Maybe nobody was there because there was no such presser to cover

I always respect the hustle and do still log in through the homepage whenever i come here, and I believe a lot of others respect your efforts in keeping the home page relevant. Not trying to say otherwise. Just saying, there's so much more going on in boxing than Chris Henry. Hell, there's so much more going on in Houston at this very moment (the Olympic Trials) than Chris Henry. That's all.

Maskaev-Rahman hahahahahahahah. No wonder nobody was there.

I hear you bro. But if that's what they want to cover what can I do, I just go with it. Still, Henry seems like a good kid and I wish him the best

as do I. the light heavyweight division needs fresh meat, so it's not a bad angle. but the kid needs to step up - or even appear on tv - before people will put too much stock into it, or someone's word. i mean, it's not like he's a budding NYC prospect or anything

    Way to go Karl! :bears:

The Stinger obviously thinks this kid can go places and that is exciting. I enjoyed the interview. When we lose our capacity to think, hope and encourage fighters then we might as well be dead. It is worth remembering that Karl has been there interviewing other fighters as well and that Diaz, who also has the Stinger seal of approval, ain't doin too bad a job.

That's the guy who challenges everyone to fights?

    Now that's funny.

Anyway, decent, but filled with ass kissing interview, ruined by Karl's sad attempt to be Superstar Billy Graham. Bit of advice 'stinger', come up with your own shtick, and quit biting off someone else's.

Yep, thanks. After watching that I think Karl can stop with the hype. Henry looks OK, but he is wide open. He keeps his left to low and his jab sucks. Basically for him to go far he better have a chin made of titanium steel. He's going to get hit a ton when he fights someone who can hit back. Didn;t look like a anything special to be honest, just a guy who may be good and is fighting bums.

You are accusing me of biting someone with that sicko signature of yours along with that lousy football team as your avatar The Florida Krazy?
Anyway, the name of the game is ENTERTAINMENT, and we here at fightbeat like Chris' chances of garnering the world title in the future.
I wish I did have the time to go to the Olympic Trials and hang out at the gyms and interview Juan, Rocky, Holyfield, and other fighters on a regular basis, but I have to work and time off during the workweek is very difficult for me to obtain, but I can understand Jake's point.
The low left (good observation) is by design, now what it's by design for I can't tell you guys, but you all that have trained know what it's purpose is.
Thanks for the comments all around my brothers, and we are going to have Chris here in the chat as soon as Carlos gives the green light.

He's not quick enough to get away with his left down there when he steps the opposition up. These bad habits need to be corrected before fighting real talent.

Chris knows what he's doing, Bobby knows what he's doing, and I know what I'm doing, rest assured Val.
    Thanks for the input, though.

I was going to say the EXACT same thing. A short armed so-called power-puncher who doesn't tuck his chin and brings his left back to his waist everytime he throws it.

That's a recipe for a KO loss to the first hard punching southpaw he faces.

Again, against a southpaw you're asking to get knocked out. You can keep that left low to shoot uppercuts, but when you've got a guy with marginal handspeed and throws round punches like this guy...you're begging to get touched up by a straight left and a clean-up right hook.

This guy is sparring partner material for a guy like Chad Dawson.

Plus, one of the things I've always said is, i like to look at HOW guys are getting hit. There are a few times when he gets nailed right on the point of his chin. He handles the shot but also consider the competition. Against a real guy, he goes to sleep when he gets touched like that.
