There are too many legitimately good 147 pounders to worry about Hatton or Castillo. And besides, didn't Hatton already prove that he's scared to death of 147 lbs?
Castillo will beat Hatton, and neither will be effective at 147 IMO. Both guys depend greatly on their strength and size advantages at 140. At 147, both guys would sacrifice those important advantages they are so used to enjoying.
Hatton over Cotto at 147??? Wow... I just don't know what Hatton could do at 147 pounds to beat Cotto.. If Hatton didn't like the way he felt after the Collazo fight at 147, he really won't like the way Cotto makes him feel..
This is the perfect post to show a true fan blinded by the teabag resting on the bridge of his nose. :nono: Lets just call it out. Everyone on this board sees it a mile away. You can't stand the attention on Cotto. Your boy was supposed to reach superstardom after the DLH fight, the fight was supposed to be like last nights fight. But Cotto performed, Floyd played it safe. Seriously, you know you don't think Hatton would beat Cotto at 147.
you are honestly nuts if you think that. Floyd might be more known, but by no means is it FAR more than Cotto. Both have relatively the same drawing power, with Cotto having the edge just because all of New York and PR are behind him.
Cotto could fight a MSG janitor and sell the place out.. I don't think Mayweather has the same draw without a quality, known opponent..
The average non-puerto rican casual fan doesn't even know the name Cotto. Not so with Mayweather after the De La Hoya fight. Why is this even a debate? :notallthere:
Mayweather become much better known from the De La Hoya fight. He became known as a guy most people don't care to pay to see fight again..
Answer this honestly: What would make more PPV buys: Mayweather - Mosley OR Cotto - Mosley Not which fight would be better, you understand...just which one would attract more attention and generate more money?
   Just his drawing power in Puerto Rico and New York trumps anything Floyd has. Does the average white mother of two in Thousand Oaks, CA know who Cotto is? No. Does she know Floyd? No. I have about ten friends who watch boxing with me. They are the casual fan. One knew who Floyd was before the Oscar fight. 3 others knew who his father was from training Oscar. After the fight, they could care less about any fight of his in the future. The ones who watched Cotto with me las night, told me to let them know when this kid was fighting again..
Answer the muthafukking question: In your HONEST opinion, which one of these fights would potentially attract more attention and generate more money?
IMHO, its a tossup. Floyd-Shane would have the boxing public and the Black fans, Cotto-Shane would have the same boxing public, all of Puerto Rico and 3/4's of New York. None of them are crossover stars, so would George Clooney show up? I doubt it.
Definitely Cotto Mosley. Especially when all the mexicans get behind Shane because they know he's an undefeated latino ass kicker.
whats funny is you are making our arguement. We want to see Shane-Floyd, you make every excuse why it shouldn't happen. When we say it wouldn't draw, you get on the defensive for your boy and make the case that it should happen.:notallthere:
As I said, I think the average boxing fan would rather see Cotto-Mosley.. With the Cotto beating of Judah and Floyd's boring last 3 fights being fresh in people's minds, I think Cotto-Mosley generates more money.. I might be wrong.. Who knows.. But the thing there is no question about is that Cotto-Mosley would be far, far more entertaining.
I can tell that you don't believe what your saying, pal. I give you more credit than that. You KNOW that Floyd-Mosley is a bigger fight..without the shadow of a doubt..than Cotto-Mosley. From 147-154...with the possible exception of Oscar...Floyd is where the money and interest is AT..regardless of the fact that his last two fights weren't the most exciting.
I agree that Mayweather-Mosley is a bigger fight. It will draw more of a promotion from HBO, more media coverage, and more buys. Among boxing fans, Cotto-Mosley still might not even be as big, though I think it would be more heavily anticipated. I know it'd probably be easier to get a group of guys together to watch Cotto-Mosley than Mayweather-Mosley...but that's not the same as saying it's a bigger fight.
