The Hearns that fought Dennis Andries vs the Calzaghe that fought Jeff Lacy!

    What transpires?

    Hearns.

I see the success that Kessler had with Joe with the right hand, and uppercut at times, then picture if its Hearns in there doing that.

Kessler, though, has arguably a better chin than Hearns did..and Calzaghe can "slap" fairly hard. Also Calzaghe had endless stamina and Hearns had been known to fade late.

I got Calzaghe in this one...but it's a very close fight and Hearns drops him early. I think Calzaghe comes on late and does enough to edge out a decision.

I think Tommy had the type of power that might have made Joe gun shy for the duration of the fight.

    It would be close however.

Slappy would win a competetive decision...simply because of the weight.

Neither fighter at their optimum weight by any means. Hearns was by far the 'greater' fighter, but Calzaghe wins a comfortable enough UD IMHO here.

I dont see how Calzaghe beats him

he isnt some big banger with an undentable chin and he's not outboxing him (nobody else did)
