Wasn't Jermaine Taylor looking to fight Tito next too? That makes Floyd, Roy, and Jermaine as all possible opposition for Tito's return. Who would you pick LOK if you were in Tito's position? I'd pick Jermaine cause he's the middleweight champ and he's more beatable. Roy is old and shot and doesn't really offer anything to the plate at the current time. Floyd is a bit difficult to deal with style wise and would require Tito to shake off the rust in order to be ready for that crafty style. So I'd probably take Jermaine as a comeback opponent. Tito has a good chance in whupping that ass I think. Jermaine's looked like crud in his last few fights anyway.
I agree 100% Tito would have a shot at Jermaine.. he'd have NO shot with Roy and Floyd is much smaller but SO much faster and slicker.. Tito would be plodding all night.. out of the 3 he shoudl NOT figt Roy! I dont care if Roy is washed up.. I always thought if they had EVER fought TITO would get destroyed! Roy is MUCH MUCH faster.. AND BIGGER!
I agree.. and it's not like Tito could robotically plod around and hope to catch him.. Tito can HIT.. but as a jr middle and maybe Middle.. Roy is a LH and I dont think TITO would KO him even if he did catch him Roy would have his way with clumsy footed plodding Tito, and he'd KO him
Roy of old would have destroyed Tito with consumate ease: would have been a Floyd-Gatti type one sided embarrasing beating in 6 rounds or less. But the chinny Roy of today? .....would beat him badly all the same!! ::
Any version of Roy beats Tito. Just too fast, too good, too gifted for Trinidad. This is so stupid, the opponents that they are looking at. They should be targeting guys like De La Hoya, Mosley, maybe even Miguel Cotto at 154 pounds.
Tito needs to fight Mosley...TAILOR-made for him. Of Course, he WOULD have fought Shane if Shane wasn't so stupid and fought Winky Wright instead.
If Tito wants to be successful in his comeback, he better rematch Vargas or Mayorga. Cause anybody else he'll lose to.
Me personally would have loved for Roy to smash Tito back in the day. But not right now. Roy fighting Tito does nothing for him. And besides Tito should not be fighting anyhow. He's done everything and has accomplished everything. The dude was a beast and that's the way I want to always remember him. Roy needs to whip Hansaw and then look to fight another tuneup before getting his revenge against Johnson. Hell I say fight Woods again. Or possibly move up and get a cruiserweight belt. I'll Holla 5000
Well he must be rusty, I agree with that. But a rusty Tito still beats that fraud Roy any day of the week son. Roy ducked him then, he'll duck him now. Cupey
he'd either get KOed or beat up badly by Mosley. Felix Sturm would do the replica of the Winky fight. tito's best chance is to make a fight vs jones and hope for a haymaker to land. i'd still pick him to lose. Tito Finito
right. because tito does well against quick handed speedsters. did you not see tito vs wright? tito is done.
Mosley barely got by a shot and weight drained Vargas the first time. I can't believe how overrated Mosley is. He only knocked out Vargas the second time because Fernando didn't eat for 3 days straight to make weight. :: If this fight happened at 160, Mosley would get stopped in less than 6 rounds against Tito.
yet Mosley was competitive in spurts and did enough to score a draw in one of the judges scorecards in the rematch. i thought he won 4 rounds in their first fight. Tito couldnt even manage to win a milli-second against Winky. at 154 or 160, i dont think it matters. tito is done.
Not that quick handed speedster is relevant to this analysis...But Tito beat up Pernell Whitaker and pulverized Reid. Mosley has fast hands, but his fast hands don't prevent him from being hit. Quick handed or not, Shane is a slugger, he'll be found relatively easy by Trinidad and KOd before the late rounds.
You're using the A = B, B= C, so A = C laymen analysis. Styles make fights and Mosleys activity and aggression (like Vargas 5 years earlier) was effective in overwhelming Winky's defenses for short periods of time. Tito is a patient puncher who waits for opportunities to land a huge punch. He was never an activity person, and even in his PRIME only threw 40-50 punches a round. That's why he was so ineffective against Winky, because Winky doesn't give the kind of opportunities Tito needs to land a big punch. Mosley will give Tito those openings in spades, and is smaller than Tito by a large margin. You simply don't know much about boxing.
great examples. whitaker was old/shot and reid was half blind. mosley's been way more active. tito is a shell of himself. you act as if mosley has been KOed or knocked down more a bunch of times. he only lost to TWO people who fight nothing like tito.
never talk mosley with slystaff the guy is the consumate "mosley" hater. at this stage of their careers, mosley beats trinidad, no doubt about it...
You're a very funny guy. At this stage of their careers, Mosley has even less of a chance because he's even more stationary. Mosley suffers the first KO loss of his career in this one, WITHOUT A DOUBT.
THE KING IS BACK! :: I agree with Slystaff, Mosley is even MORE hittable than he has been in years. Vargas who has even less handspeed than Tito was able to land some vicious right hands on Mosley in their first fight. People are overrating Mosley because he beat a Vargas who couldn't eat for 3 days to make weight. This is the same Mosley who was given trouble by David Estrada!!!! Beating Estrada, and an injured Collazo just doesn't prove anything for Mosley.
