I was looking at this video of Tito/Vargas in round 12 and its evident Tito ruined Nando. He took massive amounts of damage in the fight including in the 12th. I think the fight should have been stopped after the 2nd knockdown. Thoughts? tito trinidad <EMBED src=""http://lads.myspace.com/videos/vplayer.swf width=430 height=346 type=application/x-shockwave-flash flashvars="m=1217467417&type=video"></EMBED> Add to My Profile | More Videos
Tito was a cheato in that fight*. *(and many others - De la Hoya, Hopkins and Wright showed him up to be the bitch that he is and ruined him far worse than Vargas ever was)
Vargas always sucked. People ignored how much he sucked before the Trinidad fight, and afterwards, they blamed his suckiness on Trinidad.
If we could replace the "World Awaits" with this fight Boxing today would be on a different level. Then you follow it with Tito vs Mayorga and Boxing would be killing MMA. Instead we got the Mexican Wedding Singer vs Floyd Gayweather. Do we need to wonder why the boxing world rumbles when there are talks of another Trinidad return? Cupey
You are totally out of touch with the boxing public, and sports fans in general. Think of the biggest football game of the year, the biggest baseball game of the year. It isn't two evenly-matched, exciting teams; it's the best of one half against the best of the other half. The biggest fight is by definition one between the best fighters (or at least who the public perceives as the best fighters). Superstar vs. superstar beats out Gatti-Ward II or Corrales-Castillo II any day. Ever wonder why Floyd Mayweather basically drew the same as those two, fighting Carlos Baldomir of all people ? Because people like to see superstars, not exciting fights. All you know about the boxing public comes from what you read on crappy message boards.
I wrote about WWE for Sporstline after writing about boxing and MMA for Inside Fighting. I have also written poems about constipation.
Either way Tito was watchable. I would pay $500 on PPV to see Tito with illegal handwarapps in a 16 foot ring against Stinks.
Or any of the other shithead writers you have. You are totally out of touch with the boxing public. In a paragraph, I could explain to you what sports fans want out of boxing, but you're too ignorant to see it for yourself.
Relax. We don't need to be enemies. You've made a good forum here. The problem with the website in general is that it doesn't have a "Jake." Losing him was a big thing, but you can't take his place. Don't try to be him; be Carlos. Don't put forth your views as being those of "Fightbeat"; make yourself the face, and put your views as being "Carlos's." Also, don't put down the writers you do have. Support your writers, and encourage them to write. Give them topics. Give them fights to cover. Give them fighters to learn about; be the teacher.
I'm not your enemy, just responding to some posts. I'm not trying to be Jake. Jake was great at what he did and I don't think there is anybody better in the business in doing it. And I don't put forward my views becasue I rarely ever right. I work for a promoter so a lot of my energy goes to writing for them. But I'm hoping to do more writing in the near future. All the things you said are great. Sounds like you should be an editor somewhere. Cupey
He joined Golden Boy Promotions as DelaHoya's chief hairstylist. It's a big step up in responsibility.
