Arum said Tito had trouble making 170. If that is true he's not making 160. Tito should have to fight at least once at 160 against someone with a pulse to even get a title shot though. There are guys that are more deserving than Tito is.

Won't Pavlik have to defend the MW title after Taylor? Will they let him fight two fights above the weight in a row? Or are they looking to fight Duddy first then Tito?

Hopefully Duddy first. But i'm sure Pavlik would dump the belts if a Tito fight was offered for obvious reasons.

If Tito is serious he needs to drop to 160! He cant handle anything above 160. His body frame isnt built for that!

hopefully this mismatch doesen't happen. It does nothing for Pavlik or for us as boxing fans (except Hex-One and Cupey). He should fight Abraham. Or Taylor again if he losses. Or move up to 168 and fight Kessler. Or at least defent his title against a CONTENDER, not Tito freaking Trinidad. :flip:

It's time they step aside let some actual meaningful matches take place and stop holding the sport hostage!

Only exception is Hopkins, he's is still the champ at 175 so you can't fault him for sticking around. The rest of the guys especially Oscar need to retire.

Are you guy's for real ???? Tito-Pavlik is a far better fight than Duddy-Pavlik, it's not like it will rob us of a must see match.

For sure it's a better fight. The question is can Tito make 160? Pavlik needs to defend at 160 at some point. He may as well just move up if he's going to fight over the limit all the time.

Tito vs. Pavlik is the best fight that can be made at 160......even better than Pavlik vs. Abraham....Smurf deserves the shot more...but he needs to come to PAVLIK...to get it. The Champ is not going to Germany to fight him....he doesn't have 2...

You Ricans are delusional if you think Tito will beat Pavlick, lol.

Pavlik also easily beats the Golden Boy.

The Ghost is going to DESTROY Tito...Badly.

Pavlik KOs Trinidad in eight rounds.

Wow, I am truly stunned. Did anyone here watch Pavlik-Taylor or Trinidad-Jones?

One of the few high-level middleweights Trinidad has a great chance against is Pavlik. Pavlik is slow, plodding, and relies on very conventional combinations and his power to wear down the opponent and KO him. He "boxes" only in the sense that he uses the jab sometimes.

He will stand in front of Tito all night, and the best part of his defense is his ability to take a punch and come back. This is about as perfect a fighter as I can think of for Trinidad to face at this point. He's pretty easy to hit, and stands right in there to be hit.

Felix looked about as good as you could hope against RJJ, he had decent defense, good offense, good workrate. If the same Tito shows up against Pavlik he is a VERY live dog, no question. Although I think it's likely Pavlik KOS Trinidad in 8 or 9 rounds, it is still very reasonable that Tito could end up hurting and finishing Pavlik. If Jermain Taylor can shake Pavlik BADLY, almost into a KO loss, Trinidad certainly has a shot at a KO.

    This is a good matchup.

I rather see Pavlik-Duddy. Duddy is a fraud who needs to be brutally destroyed. Tito is a former great and even though I'm not a fan, I dont wanna see Kelly seriously hurt him.

Thats actually not a bad idea. And Duddy is one of the few winnable fights for Tito. Still I doubt it'll happen. I think we'll see Pavlik-Duddy in June, cause I dont think Tito can make 160 anymore.
