Lennox Lewis vs Mike Tyson (June 8, 2002). That fight had the entire boxing world on edge, especially the message boards. Too bad no other fight since then has caused that much excitement on the boards. The buildup to that fight was a sh*t load of fun with the ridiculous Tyson rants which have become memorable, smack talk going both ways between Lewis fans and Tyson fans, press conference stage brawls, day to day cheap shots between the fighters, etc!!! Where were you lads on that Saturday night? Watching from home? Getting drunk at a bar? Attending the fight live in Memphis? Phew, it sure doesn't seem 5 years ago. I remember talking sh*t about this on SecondsOut like it was yesterday. LOL!!
I was in the middle of a closed avenue (The cars couldn't pass because somebody put a giant screen with the free fight for everyone to see) and it was crazy. People really went to see Tyson win, but came out somewhat disapointed. Nobody really loved Lennox. Too bad because he's been the last great heavyweight.
REED Watched it @ the Crib,Wanted Mike to Win VERY BADLY,even BET on Mike, then Realized After Round 1 that Mike had NOfuckingCHANCE Whatsoever... REED::
To this Day,REED Knows Dudes who will Argue Tooth & Nail that Mike Lost BECAUSE of his Zoloft... REED
:bears: I have that poster, I was there to see it. Great celebration for me. I talked mad shit about Tyson and what Lewis would do to him for YEARS. This fight paid dividends  Hard to believe it's been that long.
It was great... but throughout the buildup I couldn't quite get fully into it, part of me knew the whole thing was a sham.. and Mike stood no chance whatsoever...
just a local pub was the easiest big fight to pick EVER anyone who got that one wrong is a homo teenybopper :cheer: ________ LovelyWendie
As soon as McKinley opened his mouth I about Mike being this and that I knew it was over. McKinleys very presence....you knew it was over.

Damn, five years. I watched the fight at Don Cherry's Bar and Grill with my Dad and my best friend back home in St. John's, Newfoundland. Even thought I was confident in Lewis, my hands were shaking before the bell for round 1. I was so f'n excited.
