Anybody here ever get so psyched for a workout that they can't chill like a few hours afterwards? I tend to get psyched for workouts, but sometimes my mind gets racing so much that it is hard to come down afterwards. I got psyched about an hour in advance of my 6pm workout that I'm still wanting to rip weightplates in half and punch holes in walls. Those of you who've known me online for awhile can attest to my somewhat volatile nature. As Humberto 'Chiquita' Gonzalez said, "Lava flows in my veins, not ice cream!"

I tend to stay calm on the exterior, but inside when I psyche up , I get abnormally psyched. Some people can just let it go, but there are sometimes when I'm still wanting to destroy things in a weight-training sense like I want to go downstairs and use my homegym to do another workout. Not a good idea as I know I might overtrain and tear something.

This is a psychology of weight-training thread. I know Lok is probably going to say, "Elbow drop someone like Randy Savage would, and then you should rape them in the ass a few times!"

Do any of you guys get so amped that it isn't easy to relax afterwards when it comes to training?

Thanks illuminati, do you have anything that you or your alterego would like to add that others might consider constructive? If not, go kill yourselves!

yeah man.. I know the feeling..

if you are into it you can twist up a doobie.. that will help you calm..

or.. what I have done is some cardio.. but HIGH PACED.. like heavybag work, if you have that... or even some sprinting.. you can burn up that extra energy doing some 100 yard sprints..

I say no to drugs, man!

I think the high-paced cardio is a good idea. I could do the windsprints, but I am healing a lingering groin muscle pull from playing hockey. It'll have to be the heavybag and speedbag.

We'll see how psyched I get tomorrow. I just can't decide whether to work out at home or at the gym. We'll see, I guess.
