biatch...is your list made up of porn movies? I don’t know the definition of an Indie movie... the ones already mentioned I love the terminator, reservoir dogs the usual suspect, Texas chainsaw massacre...
Made up!? How dare you. I am well travelled and educated which provides me with a more sophisticated and cultured outlook. It's not my fault the philistines around here aren't aware of the cinematic gems i listed.
-Blue Roses of Havana was basically an arty rewrite of The Lady from Shanghai. I could see every plot twist coming. -Four Delightful Evenings borrows too heavily from Roman Polanski's early Polish films. -The Bronze Highway Back Home suffers from its extended run-time and lack of focus. If the director cut out about 40 minutes and those unnecessary dream sequences, we might have a decent film. -While Lucas Awaited was terribly miscast IMO. I can't stand the actor who plays Lucas' younger brother. -Forgotten Yesteryears (The Delilah Story) would've worked better as a satire on post-war life.
Not top 5, but worth mentioning when it comes to indie films was The Squid and the Whale. Also, the Ice Storm.
I had always been under the impression that Pulp Fiction is an independent movie. Clerks Memento Swingers Mean Streets I recently saw that for the first time. It’s an excellent movie.
