I think I'm going to start a Mayorga Bandwagon!:bears: I love the theme song they use for this video! This is the same song they play when he comes to the ring!

What is not to like about this crazy SOB? I hope Nando does not kill him. I want to see him call Judah a stuttering homosexual and watch the fireworks.

    Duran was the greatest badass.

Mayorga is a fuckin maricon! Tried to slap Nando like a lil girl.

As much as Mayorga sucks, and coupled with his out of the ring antics, I still think he is better for boxing than Fraud Gayweather, Wladimir Bitchko, and and any other runners or huggers.

At 147, if he can get there healthy w/o being weight drained, he could still knock the fuck out of some top guys there.

Like who? Mosley would rape him, Cotto would torture him, Floyd would embarass him, hell even Margarita would beat him at this point. Maybe Mayorga can beat Zab, or Joel Julio, thats bout it.

But then again, he can always drop down to 154 and beat the Forrest-Bumlomir winner.

I think he would have a shot at Cotto or Margarita. He would soundly beat Zab and Julio.

The Mayorga of 02-03 would have a good shot at Cotto & Margarita, he's not that fighter anymore. I'm not saying I wouldnt still like to see it.

I could predict that fight easily. He would call Jab a stuttering maricone and zab would get dq'ed.

But seriously that is a legitimately good fight. Both guys peter out when faced with adversity so it would be similar to Tyson versus Golata... the title of the fight could be "who jumps first?"

I got fooled by Mayorga... seriously fooled. I am ashamed to admit it but I actually thought Mayorga was a lot better than people thought.

Mayorga's problem is similar to Judah's. Any guy out there now knows (including forest) that when the going gets tough Mayorga is going to look for a nice place on the canvas to lay down and wait it out.

How is Mayorga better for boxing than those guys? By bringing a WWF mentality to boxing? Is that what this sport has to do to revive itself, press conference brawls? And please don't get me started on the myth, that's right MYTH, that Mayorga is an exciting fighter. They should give Mayorga an ESPY for the way he's brainwashed so many people. You got people who thought he was a top fighter, people who thought he was a top power puncher, and most of all, people who still think he's an exciting fighter. I would sig beat that this upcoming fight won't be as exciting as people think but since that's a matter of opinion and there's no real way to gauge it, I won't.

Re-watching this video reminds me how tough this SOB was in his prime. When he had that hunger this bastard was dangerous. We need more Mayorga's in boxing!:bears:

It's fashionable nowadays to hate on Mayorga because of his amateurish bar brawler style of fighting...but this dude was an EXCITING character both in and out of the ring. Ya gotta love this guy!

Exactly! He is unabashedly who he is.... No shame, no self consciousness, no restraint.

If Mayorga was a zen monk and somoene asked what the sound of one hand clapping is he would answer that Koan with a Nando slap to the face and gain instant enlightenement:lol:

    Mayorga - Lewis
    Mayorga - Forrest I
    Mayorga - Forrest II
    Mayorga - Trinidad

Those fights were all more exciting and easier to watch than the $55 Dela Joto - Fraud fight.

Yes all those fights were exciting except of course Mayorga-Forrest II, (don't know what you were thinking when you added that one to the list.) However, in the Trindad fight, Mayorga can't really get credit for being exciting when all he did was sit there and play the role of a punching bag.

Yeah, but against Trinidad he deserves credit for setting that in motion by allowing Trinidad free looks at his jaw.

Well, I'll probably buy Vargas-Mayorga. I don't see myself buying another Fraud fight. He may be the P4P best fighter on the planet, but I just can't stand his style.

Does anyone have the clip when Mayorga faced Spinx? I remember the one part when he was tired of chasing him and stopped and did the superman pose in the middle of the ring. That was classic!

I could see him doing that against Mayweather.
