I think so yes. It would be a good scrap and competitive but i don't think Garcia has all the right tools to beat Tszyu. Outbox him in spots, outrough him others but not enough of either.
Its hard to say. Zoo looks like the better fighter, but I'm not sure if he could hang close with guys like Spence and Thurman like Garcia did. Gun to my head, i think Zoo wins a close one
For the life of me, I can't envision mediocre ass Keith Thurman beating a HOF fighter like Tszyu. He doesn't have the style, nor the tools. It's a case where Thurman's size edge isn't enough to compensate the enormous gap in class. I'm not even sold on Thurman beating prime Judah, let alone prime Tszyu.
Exactly how I see it. The only two fighters who beat Tszyu did so by taking the fight to him and letting their hands fly. A counterpuncher who prefers a more measured pace like Garcia is arguably made for him.
I like Tszyu in a big way in this one. The way to beat Tszyu was to muscle and stick close to him, and be the puncher in there. Garcia could crack at 140 but he preferred to have some distance between him and the opponent, and never set much of a pace. Also no real head movement etc. Tszyu tended to excel against more cautious or rangy stylists as they allowed him to settle into that forward rhythm and land that big right. I think it's close for a few rounds but Tsyzu takes over and wins clearly. I see Danny's chin and caution keeping him in it until the final bell, though. Could play out similarly to his loss against Spence last year.
Good post! Agreed with every word. Tszyu by punishing decision in a fight where Danny is just happy to go 12.
No. In the process of absolutely decimating Garcia, he's nailed by a massive left hook.... that he takes in his stride and carries on battering DSG. In the final minute of the twelfth round, a wormhole opens and steals KT away. He's considered unable to continue and loses.
Yes he does. Danny isn't fast/dynamic like the better 140lbrs and he just give Tszyu too many chances to land single bombs that take the sting out of him over the distance. It's competitive but Zoo wins it and might even stop him late.
People won't agree but you basically had to be very good to beat Zoo, especially later Zoo who had eliminated the risk-taking and settled into a cautious pattern of punishing mistakes. Even the Hatton fight he basically got worn down by a guy who was, unlike blow job Saunders, literally prepared to walk through fire that night to get the job done. And Zoo never fought again. You take Zoo with some gas left in the tank.........and a guy as routine as Danny Garcia.....and there's just no avenue for Garcia to win the fight. If Garcia fought Zoo like he did Khan there'd be no chance for that neck shot in the 4th.
