Heard on another site that supposedly this fight is in the works. If so, this maybe the ONLY heavyweight fight I'll care to watch. It could put Tua back on the map also. Arreola is a charismatic guy, but he's not very good. If this was the late 90's Tua, he'd waste Arreola in 3 rounds TOPS! Even now I think I'll favor Tua.
Tua actually down to a reasonable weight in his last couple of bouts. Then he took awhile off, again.
Let me know when it gets closer to fight night, as I got Arreola not only winning the fight, but becoming the first to stop Tua.
Maybe if Tua is REALLY shot. Arreola is just not very good. He's another guy who in the Lewis, Tyson, Holy era would have been a non-factor in the division.
God, you make me laugh. He has a good punch, and a good chin, and he is relentless, yeah he gets wild at times, but, he LANDS! I also agree he will stop Tua, by stoppage, I dunno about putting him down, but he will break him down. I think Arreola will veen later get a title... I think he is really good.... Yes I do have a bit of a bias, as I know the guy, but he still is a pretty good fighter, and definately a top 10 guy right now, and later top 5...as though I do believe he could beat Chagaev or Peters...
If Tua comes into this fight "in shape" he could be a dominant champion for a long time to come. ::::
So far Arreola has won all his fights pretty easily, seems to have a big punch and hasn't been hurt. To me that means that, since he hasn't faced good competition, we have no idea how good or bad he can be. We can't say he will be a champion some day but it is ignorant to say that this or that fighter would blast him out quickly. Sure, we have seen cuter boxers but George Foreman was not Pernell Whitaker either. Whether Arreola is anywhere close to Foreman's level remains to be seen of courseBut let's not judge him because he is a modern guy and thus automatically worse than others
::... nothing like a debate over semantics. obviously he meant that Tua wouldn't get knocked out, which is often the limited view most people take when it's suggested that a fighter can potentially stop him.
Tua was getting COMPLETELY outclassed by Maurice Wheeler until a grazing body shot sent Wheeler rolling around the canvas in pain. I had Tua winning 1 round out of 8. Most also had Tua losing to Robert Hawkins one fight later. I'm with Jake. Arreola will stop Tua in 5.
All Tua needs to do is hire a hypnotist to put the mental impression of Arreola as being a ham sandwich and he'll murder him. :flip: Good prediction BTW. When I saw it , the power of your prediction compelled me to say something.
Fuck you guys! :::::: Yeah I meant stopped on his feet, not knocked out... fuck...hahaha Thanks Jake.
Are you being serious? I don't know much about him, I've seen him a total of once, and I honestly can't remember what he was like. I only remember he didn't look like much of a force, looked a little podgy if I recall.
Arreola will beat Tua simply because he is the younger fighter and will do whatever Tua does but better. But speaking of Arreola alone I don't see the big deal. Even with the crappy heavyweight division he doesn't impress me.
I agree! that fight would mean something. I am actually more interested in how Haye does at Heavyweight more than Arreola. but a fight between the two would be interesting.
