Brunson joins Valero in the 18-0 (18), all 1st round ko club with a membership of 2, afaik. So let's look at how they got there... Opponents' records: Brunson: Valero: 1-1 ..........0-1 0-0 .........2-5 0-0 ..........3-1 0-0 ..........0-4 0-0 ...........0-2 0-0 ...........2-6 2-8 ...........0-8 1-1-1 .........7-2-1 8-1-2-1 ......5-20-2 5-12-1 ........21-13-2 2-2-1 .........7-0-1 6-9 ............0-3 1-11-1 .........8-4 10-12 ..........24-8-1 1-6 ..............1-5 6-9-1 ..........14-7-6 0-0 ..............6-2-2 18-21-1 ..........17-3 Obviously, the opponents aren't overly impressive, but Valero's are noticeably and considerably better. For instance, zero of Brunson's opponents were coming off of a win (vs 5 for Valero). For that matter, only one was coming off of a draw. Winning records? One for Brunson vs 9 for Valero. So who is responsible for this? Well, unfortunately Teddy gets some ammunution on his weak commission rant. Of Brunson's last 10 fights, 7 have been in Michigan and his last 3 have been in New Zealand.
Brunson is a good (as in skilled) fighter, but his handlers are doing him a disservice in attempting to extend this streak. His skills are going to erode well before he hits his prime, and he's gonna be lost once he runs into a cat that can not only last until the 2nd round, but not be fazed by his power.
