    Indeed. It seems a marketing angle for most of them. "I'll announce my retirement but then wait for a good opportunity to cash in".

    I'm sure some promoters are behind it too. Take break for a while. Claim you're retiring, then we'll give it some time and whatever matchup you're involved in will bring in more interest (money) because you're "making a comeback".

    Makhmudov is a horrible fighter. He doesnt even have a puncher chance (yeah even his much vaunted power is pretty much a fraud). I guess it's accceptable for a comeback fight, but Fury will have to fight much better opposition and fast if he wants boxing fans to care
