Tyson Fury will take a massive step towards a world title fight in 2013 when he meets Kevin ‘Kingpin’ Johnson at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on December 1.
Tough American Johnson will come to Belfast to boost his own world title credentials again as he went the distance with WBC World heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in 2009 but Fury says he will make his own statement to the world in their 12-round international contest.....http://www.boxingscene.com/tyson-fury-kevin-johnson-tops-december-1-card--59263

Interesting. It's quite a big step up for Fury, but Johnson is really not that good. Seems like a toss up to me. I like Fury better though so I will root for the big oaf.

It should be a step up for Gypo Fury after he beat bum Vinny Maddalone in his last fight, but to be honest I think Gypo Fury will dominate Johnson as Johnson really does not bring much to the table. Offensively he's not that good at all and he'll be slower than Gypo Fury. It may well go the distance but I honestly feel that Gypo Fury can get the job done inside 12 rounds.

It kinda puts things in perspective doesn't it ? Fury has been talked about for some years now and now he is taking a MASSIVE step up in competition and it's Kevin Johsnon ? A top 30 on a good day heavyweight ?

Top 30? Things must be bad in the heavyweight division if Johnson is in the top 30. Fury isn't great either but he'll have too much for Johnson to handle i'm sure.

Johnson isn't a step up from Chisora, more like a step sideways. Johnson brings a different challenge.

I like this fight for both guys, I'd say it's a similar matchup to Chambers/Dimitrenko, although I don't think Johnson is as good as Chambers.

    Fury should win this.

    Better jab and defense.

Gypo Fury's jab isn't too bad you know. If Gypo Fury has his head screwed on right he really could make a statement here.

I don't like him and I would crack up if he loses but I just can't see him losing to Kevin Johnson.

I dunno about statement. Vitali couldn't do shit with him and he is imo much better at finding small openings than Fury. Johnson is very hard to stop imo and he can go into survival mode. Not sure if that will even be necessary against Fury but I can't see Fury stopping him at all.

I'm not saying Johnson's jab and defense advantages will win him the fight, but he's undoubtedly better in these two categories, although he seemed to brawl a bit more in his fight against Leapai. Maybe if he does that, Fury could stop him but it's unlikely. Fury will miss a shitload and can be happy if he wins a decision. I would call that a good win for him. I kinda rate Johnson he's imo Top 20 not 30. And i can't see how having a guy like Johnson in the top 30 makes the division bad. I wouldn't be so sure if the 30. best dude of Alis or Tysons era beats Johnson so easily.

He won't because Johnson will stop trying to win and just survive if he falls behind. Johnson is by far the best guy Fury will have faced thus far though.

Not sure if he is that much better than Chisora. DIfferent style though, and it could be tricky for Fury's lack of skill. I expect him to win though

I have to admit, I find Fury pretty hilarious and I admire his confidence but he's delusional, especially saying shit like he's the best heavyweight since Lewis.

This has the makings of a tough fight for Jr. if Price is in shape to go rounds.

Eubank is a slapper. My kingdom for a young fighter who knows how to punch properly

I thought Eubanks jr. looked pretty decent. I don't expect him to be world class or anything but he definitively has talent and knows how to box.

At the very least, this should be a good learning experience for him... only his 8th fight, Price has over 40.
