Tyson Fury faces the #7 ranked contender in Saturday. Well, #7 ranked according to Boxrec. And, to be quite exact, that is #7 ranked among the German heavyweights.

Is this a heavyweight championship fight, who the fuck can tell anymore. Fury is, however, #1 ranked by The Ring, whereas Schwarz is much lower ranked than Andy Ruiz was before his bout. So in a way, this should rank as perhaps THE biggest heavyweight upset ever, should Schwarz win (Buster Douglas was Tyson's 7th contender, at the fight time).

Schwarz has good numbers, but even I, as likely the most keen follower of the talentless Euro heavyweights, don't recognize any more than two or three names in his record. His most notable opponent has been Konstantin Airich, and Schwarz was the only guy in past few years who was NOT able to KO the shot old man. Schwarz has been floored in his fights and does not have any outstanding qualituies

Germans have given some gutsy performances in heavyweight title fights. Excluding the alphabet madness era, I believe two Germans have fought for the (lineal) heavyweight title. Mildenberger was 10-1 underdog against Ali and won two rounds, and Axel Schulz deserved the decision against Foreman. Schwarz is less known than either was, at the fight time.

Why does Fury bother with this I have no idea, and unless he struggles, we don't know anything new after this fight.

The simple unadulterated reality is that Fury needs to put on a show here.

Fury can't punch, basically. He wears guys down then bowls them over.

So he's got to not get hit, win every round, and eventually put his man away.

Anything less and it's going to rank between a missed opportunity and a disaster.

Fury fights to the level of his opposition.
I suspect that trend will continue.

Ah, of course. I was thinking of the 'hapless German contenders' so hard that I missed the champion

Why did arreola strip for the weigh-in? There's no fucking weight limit.

Arreola vs. Klowanki is going to look like it's happening in slow motion. Should be interesting.

No idea. I guess he doesn't want people to think he is 274 if he is only 273

I hope COWNAKI feels like the coward that he is.

He was scared to fight a beatable bum like AJ... you woulda thought someone asked him to fight the 74 Foreman.

Andy had the balls to do what BOSS' boy refused to do.

We don't actually KNOW what happened here. He might have offered Kownacki total chump change.

A guy with heavy hands being given a shot at the Heavyweight Championship of the World??

Those opportunities are like winning the lottery.

Maybe not but in retrospect it is certainly an example of a fighter being too risk averse.

19 fights in, 15 by KO and you don't accept a chance of winning the Heavyweight Championship of the World.

Like it would really matter one single iota to your career if you lost.

    Who gives a shit?

Even that "chump change" would have been FAR and AWAY Kowcrappy's biggest payday.

And if he won, he would have been in the position that Ruiz is currently in.

Ohhhh cut the bullshit! Last minute is the week before!

Kowcrappy would have had OVER a month to prepare for AJ, and was in training anyway.

Theres NO excuse that can be made for him. He shoulda accepted. Even if it was "chump change" as Irish suggested, it was still gonna be his biggest payday, and his BEST opportunity.

I think Ruiz is a better fighter than Cowcrappy anyway, but AJ is soooo inept, that maybe the fat Pole would have pulled it off. But he blew his chance by being a bitch.

A month is not much to prepare for a world Championship fight. And theres no reason why kow should have been in a hurry. Hes high rated so he will get a chance sooner or later

It's hard to root so strongly against a guy who was never in the picture to begin with. AJ is a chump, Ruiz is the champ, and Kownacki really isn't in the picture, either way, until we get facts, which we never will.

Realistically the big goal and achievement for a fighter, especially for a hw, isn’t winning the title and and becoming a star. It’s getting a shot at a big star and getting that life changing payday. Actually wining and making more big money is gravy train, pie in the sky stuff.

If the big money isn’t there for the big shot then it’s just foolish to take it.

I guarantee klownacki woulda made as much or near as much as Ruiz did

Ortiz turned down a shitload and regretted it, now I highly doubt hes getting anywhere close for a wilder RE as the 5 mill he reportedly was offered to face Joshua
