I'm sure they're gonna pull out all the stops in an attempt to make UFC 100 a major event.

So that leads to the question....

What will be the Main Event of UFC 100?

Depends on who are the champions at that time. But I think they should try a one-off deal in making a Fedor vs the champion at that particular UFC. Who knows who'll be UFC champ at that time. Could be Nog, Lesnar, Couture, Mir, who knows...

Fedor isn't gonna pull in the buyrates for what should be their biggest PPV. For as good of a fighter as he is, he just isn't a draw. It would be great for hardcore fans, but it wouldn't be great for the bottom line.

I'm thinking we'll see a dual main event of Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin for the 205 lb title, and the Lesnar\Couture winner vs. the Mir\Nog winner.

If they can't get Fedor that's a likely card. Perhaps many mainstream fans don't know who Fedor is but any fans of MMA know the dream match is between him and Couture. (should he get past Lesnar)

Also UFC would have plenty of time to hype up Fedor before the event to educate those unaware.

The closer you look, the more it's apparent how lacking the heavyweight division is in the UFC. None of those guys besides Lesnar and Couture can draw, and Lesnar is a draw only because he brought in the pro wrestling fanbase. Nobody gives a f*cking sh*t about Mir and they don't care much for Noguira, Herring, Gonzaga, Werdum or whoever else.
The bottom line is, the UFC has to do what's right as opposed to just looking at the big bucks. And what's right is they need to bring in the BEST and most accomplished fighters and make those fights. That's the only way to make this thing into a legitimate sport as opposed to a circus sideshow. Brock Lesnar 1-1 in the UFC and he's fighting for the f*cking title. What exactly is so prestigious about the title now? It's a complete farce.

But other then Fedor, who are the heavyweights they can bring in and save the day? Arlovski? Sylvia? Sylvia was crushed by Fedor, and Arlovski was beaten twice by Sylvia. Neither of them are elite anymore.

Josh Barnett? He's already lost to Nog, and is nearing the downside of his career. Are they gonna bring back Cro-Cop? He's as washed up as Liddell, Hughes, Tito, etc.

Much like boxing, there just aren't a lot of quality heavyweights out there. They're better off building the next generation of heavyweights with guys like Lesnar, Carwin, Velasquez, etc, then they are trying to bring in old names who's best days are behind them.

Well, personally I'm a fan of compelling match-ups. And I think the Couture-Lesnar-Nog-Mir tournament will give us nice match-ups and great fights.

I also think guys like Barnett, Werdum and Arlovski can be part of equally compelling fights.

That being said, I think there's a huge gap between the best HW in the world in Fedor and the rest of the pack. Fedor is that dominant. But dominance typically breeds competition. And if Fedor joined the UFC, I think the exposure would spur a surge of new HW talent.

I don't think Dana would ever give Fedor a one fight deal. He knows, Fedor will stomp a hole in whoever's head that he faces from the UFC. Then What? Dana is now stuck trying to sell a HW class that everyone now knows is subpar. In his mind, never fighting Fedor, is much better than getting stomped by him.

I see UFC 100 having Silva fighting the 205 champ.
