Interesting. I think the training camp expenses would eat through their earnings fairly quickly. Particularly for the lesser paid fighters. Maybe keeping those 9 to 5 jobs would be beneficial.

-Randy Couture: $225,000 ($150,000 for fighting, $75,000 win bonus)
-Jeremy Horn: $25,000 ($25,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $25,000)
-Chuck Liddell: $160,000 ($80,000 for fighting; $80,000 win bonus)
-Matt Lindland: $30,000 ($15,000 for fighting; $15,000 win bonus)
-Tim Sylvia: $80,000 ($40,000 for fighting; $40,000 win bonus)
-Tra Telligman: $9,000 ($9,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $9,000)
-Georges St. Pierre: $28,000 ($13,000 for fighting; $15,000 win bonus)
-Frank Trigg: $14,000 ($14,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $14,000)
-Joe Doerksen: $5,000 ($5,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $5,000)
-James Irvin: $6,000 ($3,000 for fighting, $3,000 win bonus)
-Travis Lutter: $4,000 ($4,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $4,000)
-Brian Gassaway: $2,000 ($2,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $2,000)
-Terry Martin: $2,000 ($2,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $2,000
-Diego Sanchez: $24,000 ($12,000 for fighting; $12,000 win bonus)
-Mike Van Arsdale: $15,000 ($15,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $15,000)
-Trevor Prangley: $6,000 ($3,000 for fighting, $3,000 win bonus)

    Total: $635,000

let me lay it down like this....

it costs about $300 bucks a month to train

plus u have to live and eat and shit..

as u can see u dont make shit to fight in the UFC...kind of the cage dosent pay there main eventers over 1g, the average salary is $300..... the new total combat that is taking over the west costs normally pays out about $300 bucks max....so you train for months at a time just to pay for 1 month of training so 99% of these cats of 9-5...

now i know guys who are sponosred and they dont get much, my boy war machine is sponsored and they give him $1000 bucks a month, nothing more nothing less..i cant speak for guys with big sponsors except for baroni who was with FCF...they didnt give him shit but free cloths and free flights to new york...

MC, what did you think of how easily St. Pierre won??? Was Trigg tailor made for him, or is St. Pierre getting that good?

it was a good fight where i think GSP was winning....
then hughes being the crafty guy he is some how turned a kimura into an armbar and won it
but hughes was not dominating or anything like that

I'm amazed that Cotoure makes so much more than Lidell.

I do love the fact that you get more if you win. That's a concept that boxing needs in the worst way.

You still get paid to fight, you just get paid more if you win. It should be 75% to the winner, 25% to the loser. If it's a draw, then it's a 50/50 split.

It gives people a reason to fight at their best every time out.

Even that concept probably wouldn't motivate every fighter to fight at their best. Maybe holding a fighter's family hostage and telling them that their wife and children will be burned alive if they don't win the fight will really motivate them. Bruce Seldon then would give an actual effort.

I can't remember what fighter it was, but Dana White stopped Tito Ortiz from sponsoring a fighter just because White won't let Tito fight in the UFC. According to Tito he was paying more to sponsor the fighter then White was for fighting.
