    Sucked, bug time.

Riggs v Diaz was a good scrap, everything else was garbage.

And congrats to Frank Mir, 8 seconds into his comeback, he was looking for a way out of that fight. He didnt want to continue (although I dont know if i could blame him, that was a TON of blood)

Chuck -v- Randy 2nd round = replay of the first round of the last fight

Seems to me like Chuck figured out Randy's style since their first encounter. Randy will just stand there stalking, feet wide apart with hands up to his face and just waiting for his moment to strike. Chuck can see it a mile away and catches Randy with a punch.
BTW, anybody notice how piss poor Chuck's boxing technique is?:jester:He's so open for a counter, it's laughable. A pro boxer with any amount of skill would shit on him. Too bad the LHW division is a joke. I hope Chuck participates in the next Pride Middleweight Grand Prix. He got through Overeem last time but was massacred by Quinton Jackson. I wonder if Dana would have the balls to let his champ take another crack at it? Especially since the UFC's LHW division is a joke.

    Chuck boxes so bad...

Its funny ive seen guys beat him like a drum who throw good strait punches...

I actually picked vernon white to beat him, the guy isant a great MMA fighter but his striking is decent and he NORMALLy throws strait punches

    Stupid pick.

Chucks striking has always been wide, but he has two great equalisers. The left and the right. It don't matter how many times he gets hit, or how far he falls behind; the guy has a good chin and it only takes one shot with him.

He's been beating guys, people said would whip him...and he's done it for years now. I gave up betting against Liddell long ago. Just cos it looks broke, don't mean it needs fixing.

he may not be a great boxer, but he gets the job done. It was a decent little feint he set Randy up with for both KO's; just cocks the right hand, gets Randy to commit to the defence, and the drops the right hand over Randy's block attempt.

Vernon White made it a great fight with Chuck, thats one of my favorite fights to watch

It was an ok standup battle. I don't like MMA stanup, where guys just mostly punch though. Liddell is terrible technically and he rarely makes for an exciting match because of it.

My kind of MMA fight is one that involves all the aspects of MMA. Thats what makes the sport so different and pure. When two guys just swing for the fences, I tend to see why a fat schlob like Butterbean can get work there.

4 ounce, genius and a jab is still a jab. Dudes shouldn't be getting stopped in MMA with jabs either.

Speaking from street fighting experience , IMO a standup fighter will always beat a ground fighter if the standup fighter knows how to avoid takedowns ..

IMO Ground fighters are just guys that simply are not good fighters to begin with - thats why they resort to ground tactics ...

Chuck is slow as hell, but still Ko's guys who shoot at lightning speed. I'm starting to think if he had better standup skills he'd be unbeatable.

Liddell is alot like CroCop. Both will avoid the takedowns and keep it standing, and as long as it's standing, they will be deadly. You can't ever underestimate a striker.

    cmon now

that was the first time around which chuck escaped

the second time..Randy had chuck in position..who was grabbing the fence at times to stay on his feet..not to mention he kept looking at the reff..pleading with him to seperate them..then the round ended

    what are you talking about?

you dont know who i was cheering for...i prefer the stand up fighter because i love boxing...so naturally i was for chuck...but i HATE these rules..the rounds and this bullshit...they clearly favor the stand up fighters....if that round doesnt sound..their is a chance that randy takes lidell to the ground

Every combat sport prefers strikers over wrestlers/grapplers. Strikers sell. Why do you think the UFC markets "UFC KnockOuts" on DVD? They want strikers, guys who can end fights brutally. There's hardly a market for guys like Matt Lindland who put you to sleep.
If you are a great hitter AND have a personality, you'll most likely be at the top of the employer's hiring list.

If that round doesn't sound? Favours standup?

Rounds favour standup? Rounds are for the fighters....to rest up, so they can continue at a high pace and entertain the crowd. Bullshit? Say the same thing about boxing then.

    Go spike your hair, fairy.

Randy is old, he beat the SHIT out of Chuck the first time and that's what counts. Chuck is not a better fighter then Randy and he never will be, I'd pick the ass whipping Randy gave Chuck over both thoses KO's any day.

    Ooops...forgot the most important one...:boohoo:

Randy lost, (twice) not because of age, but because Liddell made the adjustments neccessary to beat Couture. Randy wasn't and isn't versatile enough to do the same.

    Cry me a river baby.
