I haven't been watching MMA for a number of years, so I am well behind. What is the better promotion UFC or Pride?
pride has 10x better fighters, but the broadcasts suck Put all of pirde's fighters in the UFC and have MMA heaven
pride > ufc by a million and ten fucking miles ufc has good fighters, but the octagon and the rules make it complete shit
a ufc main event is matth huges vs karo parysian and arlovksi vs buentello pride main event is gomi vs kawajari and cro cop vs fedor

Pride. For one the rules favour standup and more exciting fights as opposed to backing your opponent into the cage UFC style and laying and praying for a win. Secondly they've got vastly superior fighters accross the board. Gomi's better than Hughes. Henderson and Busta are better than Franklin. Silva and Shogun are better than Chuck and Couture. The HW division is 5 times deeper, even though I'd take Arlovski over Fedor.

Silva beat CroCop easier than Fedor did and Wand didn't even come close to fighting his best fight. Randleman drilled him in the standup, yet when Rampage made Randleman stand in Randlemans prime he couldn't do fuck all except get knocked out. Arlovski has very quick, powerful hands, good footwork, good kicks and good submissions. I think he can beat Fedor.

Look at his fights w/ Nog. There's not another cat out there that's dominated him like Fedor has. Without Fedor in the picture, Nog could've easily been Pride's champ for years running - I don't think he's lost to anyone else in forever. Fedor hasn't dominated every moment in every fight, but who has in MMA? About Crocop, when Wand fought him he was a baby to the MMA game and is a better fighter now. I think Arlovski has all around game, but doesn't have a very deep resume yet so it's hard to tell how he'd do against the top dogs (I don't hold his old losses to Rizzo and Rico against him). I don't think he had to dig too deep against Cabbage, Silvia, Eilers, and Buentello. Everything you said about Andre's skills you can also say about Fedor's, but Fedor has tested his against a deeper talent pool.
Fedor can't box like Arlovski can, no way. Nor does he have the power. Nog was decent, but again overrated, his subs are great, so is his chin, he doesn't do anything else particularly well. I actually think his little brother is a much better fighter due to his good standup skills. CroCop has always been overrated in my book, he hasn't changed much since the Silva fight, if you press the issue with punches he'll retreat then you can taker him down, Silva, Randleman and Fedor all used the exact same strategy. If Silva and CroCop fight again I think Wand will brutally knock him out. Also Arona was robbed against Fedor, he clearly won 2 out of the 3 rounds.
Damn, dude. Who the hell ain't overrated to you? I mean Nog, Fedor and Crocop? At least they've all had fights against opponents of note that you refer to. Who has Arlovski beat to rate him higher than those 3?
