Promoters Oscar De La Hoya and Bob Arum officially announced the two supporting bouts for the Nov. 10 Miguel Cotto vs. Sugar Shane Mosley fight at Madison Square Garden, New York City. In one, former WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margarito (34-5, 24 KOs) will take on NABF welter champ Golden Johnson (25-7-3, 18 KOs). In the other, Joel Casamayor (34-3-1, 21 KOs) takes on Jose Armando Santa Cruz (25-2, 14 KOs) for the WBC lightweight belt.

golden johnson is as good as dead. I dunno why is he still fighting? :dunno:
For a card of that Magnitude I'd rather see margarito rematching cintron, or against somebody who will have a chance. I've never seen santa cruz, but casamayor is one boring ass fighter. Let's hope he stands and trade, not hop around like a bunny.

I don't think so....Casamayor makes you fight his fight...if you don't he roughyou up...and if that don't work..then he stinks out and try to outbox you...

and why should he slug it out? Thats not his style...? that doesn't work for him.....what the hell is it with people saying "he should stand and trade with him.."...:dunno: POR que?

yeah, for arguably the most anticipated fight of the year, GLH and Arum are going out of their way to shortchange us on the undercard.

So far, not a fan of the truce. Perhaps I'll change my tune on Nov. 17, when they offer up their first non-PPV venture (Guzman-Soto)

Porque santa cruz is going to come guns blazing to give a good fight. The problem is not with casamayor, we all know he is a boring fighter to watch and a dirty one as well. The problem is matchmaking. Either they don't want their undercard to outshine the main event (which is hard to do in this case) or they care less and are just throwing name fighters there to attract more sales.

Margarito-Goldmember is an obvious set-up fight, but I think Casamayor-Santa Cruz is a decent fight. It could be awkward given their sizes and styles, but I don't see it as a showcase fight.

I find Santa Cruz-Casamayor to be an inriguing matchup, though I haven't seen SC's losses to Diaz and Trejo, but I did see that excellent fight with Cherry.

Only way to make people sit through a Cassamayor fight is to put it on an exciting card like this and hope people don't notice.

Most fans will probably fall asleep in rd 2 of Casa's fight and be awoken by loud cheering from the Mosley-Cotto bout.

funny I just read casamayor's latest interview and he called Pacquiao a Maricon  saying he is a B level fighter at best and his performance against MAB was mediocre.:dunno:

he is also pissed that manny is calling out other fighters from 135 and not him. He thinks manny is scared of him

I saw Margarito on tv on some sports show on Unvision. He said Arum already promised him the winner of cotto/Mosley. He said hopefully this time there won't be excuses from either guy.

 Margarito is pretty noble though, he did the honourable thing remember?, he said,..

"No Floyd, on the account of you being dropped on your arse and losing 5 rounds against Vernon Forrest's grandson, I am not worthy of this fight, and boxing fans would truelly appreciate it, ..if I turn you down".

why would he be calling out fighters from 135, and not the champion, if he wasn't scared?

maybe cause guys like Juan Diaz are actually winning meaningfull fights while Casamayor has been inactive since the Chico fight.

I don't think pacquiao is scared of him I just don't think CAsamayor is making a splash in his own division. I don't care if he has the ring belt. If Juan beats Julio and has three belts he is the man to beat at 135.

Its too bad Margarito is fighting a bum! Wasnt he supposed to fight Williams again? That would have been a great fight to watch again!

So you're saying Mayweather DOES want to fight him?.. is there even any evidence at all to suggest any of those you listed actually want to fight him?..and isn't Margarito not "worthy" of Cotto seeing as he wasn't "worthy" of Fraud my dearest pedigree honky?..

I know only one thing for sure.....There's an evidence of Margarito not willing to fight Cotto, by absolutely refusing to come anywhere near close to signing contract with Miguel, only to be humiliated by his own sparring partner instead.....C'est la vie.....

Dympeople I can't figure out who cried "He's ducking Paul Williams" harder and more passionately?,...I really do think Illuminati gave you a good run for your money, you pair screeched this phrase like you were exonerated from any precedents as such, who knew that it was merely my favourite fighters losing in good fights, that was only ever to be recorded?..:dunno:
