Darchinyan was in the top 20-25 in P4P status. 28-0, 6 defenses of his title (all by stoppage), and only 1 marquee fight from being bumped in the Top 10.

Walter Matthysse was nowhere near the Top 10 and just got knocked out in his last fight.

If you're considered one of the Top 25 fighters in the world, and #2 in your weight class, you're a P4Per. Darchinyan's marquee fight was Pacheco who was 30-0 when Darchinyan pulled the minor upset and beat him. He needed ONE more marquee fight against Arce and he would'v been Top 10 easily.

I have to warn you though, the Newport Beach Police Department is very well funded, and they have very little patience for outsiders entering this well-to-do community looking to start street fights especially at the beach area.
