Self explanatory. Good/very good movies that virtually never get mentioned or recognized. A few I can think of:

    Higher Learning
    Clockers
    187
    Mad City
    Syriana
    Suicide Kings
Things To Do in Denver When You're Dead
    Freedomland

    Others?

    Most Tom cruise films. Examples:

    Edge of tomorrow
    Oblivion
All of the mission impossible films

    Others

    World war z

Basically action films are generally overlooked as good films by film buffs

Although I disagree with your list, I do agree with the last sentence. Action movies are too often written off by film snobs.

Film snobs that would probably consider a piece of shit like Birdman to be a better movie than Die Hard. Simply because it's "artsy".

The Mist is a good mention.

I guess it's underrated because without seeing it, it LOOKS like it's gonna be a stupid movie. In all honesty, I expected to be bad. But it shocks the Hell outta you cause its a damn good movie, with one of the best endings of the last 20 years.

The ending was quite disturbing, more than all the monster's carnage.

GTFOH! How in heavens name a film that was nominated for a bunch of Academy Awards, including Best Picture of The Year, and won 3 awards including Best Supporting Actor, is underrated? Little seen by the masses maybe, but not underrated.

Yeah it won awards etc but very few mention it as one of the best films of all time. It is indeed a top 5 all time film, IMO.

    Also a very quotable film.

    Magus,

Stir of Echoes actually came out in 99. But yeah, it's an underrated movie. Definitely one of the better Kevin Bacon movies.

I think Wolf is an underrated movie. Probably the last quality mainstream werewolf movie. I think Jack was perfect for the role and pulled it off well.

Art is mainly subjective. Some appreciate Picasso, others hate his work. Films are a form of art.

Nice to see your opinion on the matter, I happened to find it a rather good film.

I'm pretty sure Picasso thought World War Z was awful too.

Maybe more "overlooked" than "underrated", as it generally gets good reviews and is looked upon well now. However, the reviews weren't too good when it came out and it was a flop at the box office.

Sly really does have THE worst taste in movies.

Thinks Avatar is an all time great, and likes World War Z.

TFK is correct. World War Z was fucking awful.

MOST zombie movies are dumb as Hell, with the exception being 28 Days Later. That's by far the best zombie movie.

    Lol

I like all types of films, doesn't mean I have bad taste. For example: some people only like rap music, others only like country. Some like both rap and country and probably jazz, soul, pop and other genres. Doesn't make the latter have bad taste in music just means he has a wider taste, you ignorant motherfucker. ;)
