Usyk was able to out-box a super HW Joshua twice, how does he fare against the likes of: Lennox Lewis Riddick Bowe Andrew Golota Old George Foreman Klitschko's Nikolai Valuev Michael Grant Shannon Briggs (roided version) Samuel Peter Joe Joyce in a pro fight
Usyk beats any version of Foreman post 91. Against like the 89-90 Foreman, I see George still stopping him. Foreman was levels above bum AJ.
Lennox Lewis - Lewis UD/KO Riddick Bowe - Bows TKO Andrew Golota - Usyk TKO Old Foreman - Usyk UD Wlad - Wlad UD Vitali - Usyk UD Nikolai Valuev - Usyk UD Michael Grant - Usyk TKO Shannon Briggs - Usyk UD Samuel Peter - Usyk UD Joe Joyce - Usyk UD
First I need to see Usyk vs Wilder..... Usyk could beat Peters, Valuev, Grant but he's one punch away from getting KO'ed by all of them....
Usyk would fuck Wilder up now and stop him. We gotta see if Wilder can even get past Helenius in October. He's coming off the type of beating and KO that makes a guy shot, and Helenius has pop.
Wilder will stop Helenius in 2-3 rounds.....then Usyk will either outbox him 12-0 or get brutally Ko'ed..
He has no shot against ll, bowe and the klits. Golota id make him a large underdog, but he probably beats all the others
It's a valid point, but I wouldn't say that Vitali was at his peak at the time of the Byrd fight. I think he became a better fighter post-Lewis, and peaked in the mid-00s. Usyk is dropping 3-4 rounds to AJ, and AJ simply cannot carry the spit bucket of a prime Vitali.
He had something like a 5-point lead with 3 rounds remaining if I remember correctly. I'm not sure how many rounds he fought with the rotator cuff injury either.
I had it even heading into the 9th, which Byrd definitely won. Sure, without the injury Vitali may have won a decision, but it wasn't a sure thing like many say. And if he elected to continue despite the injury, he'd have lost anyway IMO. Vitali was having issues with Byrd from the start, and it's probably what got him injured in the same way it's what got Holyfield injured.
I'd trust prime Wald more against a cutey type heavyweight, while Vitali was better suited to go up against a heavyweight with big firepower. Wald might have done better against Byrd, but his fragile ass would have done a lot worse against Lewis.
