according to fightnews, valero can now fight in Texas. bring on valero vs. juan diaz at houston. valero would serve the school boy worse than campbell did.
Good news. Unfortunately he's set to fight a mandatory June 12th in Tokyo and won't be fighting in Texas until September.
he knocked out a world class fighter in vincent mosquera. have you seen that fight? he also has a decent amateur background and is known to whup world class fighters in the gym in addition to his 100% ko percentage (most of them ending in 1). he might not be proven in terms of beating the name guys, but he's definitely not a guy who would've struggled w/ ubaldo hernandez earlier in his career. do you think the faded version of freitas would've lasted more than 5 rounds against valero?
Yeah Mosquera had a 50% KO percentage and had Valero on queer street. Juan Diaz would really humiliate Valero. He sucks.
As much as I enjoy Diaz, his inability to do anything against a guy in Campbell, who brought the fight to him, proves that Valero would really do a number to him. I don't expect Valero to go right into Juan Diaz. Julio Diaz, yes, but Juan, no. Maybe next year. Two fights for Valero, one a real soft touch, then we can expect him in there with the big boys.
LITERALLY, the State of Texas will Sanction ANYBODY to Fight...Men, Women, Retards, Crackheads,Paraplegics, WHOMEVER... They Gave Holyfield a Boxing License when NO OTHER Commission would...They were CONSIDERING Giving "Mr. H.I.V." Tommy Morisson 1, as Well... If ANYBODY Out there Needs a Boxing License, Holla @ REED...He's Pretty Cool w/the Boxing Commisioner of Texas, Dickie Cole... REED::
I'm not a Diaz hater by any means, but I am a diaz naysayer. I've never thought he was anything special That said, Valero is shit :: Diaz by decision.
Valero gets a lot of attention because he has the wild hair of a Medieval Knight. But he is slow, chinny, and has only cracked on bums.
SURELY U're Familiar w/his Son Laurence, Perhaps THE Most Controversial Ref of the Last 10-15 Years???... REED::
While Lawrence and Dickie have had their fair share of controversey, Tony Weeks takes the cake when it comes to straight up reffing over the course of the past 10 years or so. Cole has slowly taken over over the past 3.
Nothing to do with his hair. It's the KO streak. (yes obviously lined with bums w/ the exception of a couple of guys) If anything he's fun to watch.
You can't really get on Valero's strength of opposition too badly considering the fact that he hasn't fought in the states. How many 130lbs fighters are willing to bounce over to Japan?
Valero is a slow, sloppy, amateurish bum. Pac would make mincemeat of him. Valero is not on pacman's level. I'd pick this version of Barrera over Valero.
Barrera wouldn't even pick himself over Valero. When they asked Barrera who could beat Pac he said Valero.
funny thing is Valero is no better than DAvid Diaz and Arum will tell you that is a fight of the year candidate against Pacquiao ::
People, not just here but on other websites as well, that are already writing Juan Diazs' fistic obituary are making a laughable mistake. He just signed today with Golden Boy Promotions, and will most likely be back better than ever. Oftentimes in boxing, a loss makes a fighter better, and you learn a hell of a lot more from your losses than you do your wins. I missed a chance to talk to him Thursday as he was in Miami for Spring Break, but the folks at the gym told me his cut is healing nicely and quickly. I was miffed just as everyone else was about the poor sportsmanship about the performance enhancing drugs allegation of Nate Campbell, though. Valero is not even in Diazs' class as a fighter.
I don't understand how Valero became such a superstar with people here. The guy was pretty much out on his feet against Mosquera who is considered a rather light puncher. Can you imagine if Pacquiao had Valero on queer street like that? Valero hasn't even beaten a good fighter in his own weight class, now you have guys on here claiming he can beat the #2 or #3 lightweight in the world. ::
I don't understand it either. What really compounds my confusion is watching the guy fight :: I think him being banned from fighting in America has elevated him to mythical status, and rendered him intensely overrated. Even this passion-less Pacman would crush him like a bug.
