Julian Ramirez 16-0 (8) out of Alhambra, California
    vs.
Abraham Lopez 20-0-1 (15) out of La Puenta, California for the vacant NABA featherweight belt.

    SOMEBODY's "O" MUST GO!!!

It's a hell of a fight so far. The younger Ramirez rattled Lopez in round 1and took the round. Lopez was dominating round 2 but was shaken again late in the round. Hell of a fight so far.

    19-19

More solid exchanges in round 3 with both men getting tagged but Ramirez landing the cleaner blows. Lopez cut on the outside of the left eye (small cut.)

    Ramirez is up 29-28.

    (Lederman has Ramirez up 30-27.)

Lampley and Kellerman both say they would give Lopez the second round (as I did.)

Ramirez is being trained by the Pocket Rocket.

Rounds 4-6 not nearly as eventful as the first 3. Ramirez is cut above the right eye. The ref called it as the result of an unintenional headbutt but HBO is disputing there actually was a headbutt.

    Ramirez up 58-56.

After round six I went to youtube to watch people fighting inside restaurants but they gave it to Lopez. Lederman had him well behind. Strange decision...

The same place I'll be in about five hours. Though I'm getting a late start tonight. I haven't even cracked a beer yet.

That was a hell of a fight. I didn't keep track of the rounds but it looked like it could go either way.

I am having a brain freeze here. There were two Hispanic fighters that had a brutal fight that was fight of the year material. Then they had a rematch and it ended in a first round KO. Who the hell were these guys again? I think one was named "Ruiz."

I can't remember if the first fight was fight of the year material but for some reason I'm thinking of Oscar Larios-Willie Jorrin.

Ah fair enough, it's the only one I could think of with two Latino fighters that fit his criteria of a close points decision in the first fight (though I recall it being considered a robbery at the time) and a first round KO in the rematch.

No. As I typed it I actually thought of this match but this was recently. What's funny is not only can I not remember the names (though I still think one was Ruiz) I cannot remember the weight class either. Though it was two Mexicans so it was probably 140 or below. It was on HBO or Showtime within the last year. In the rematch, dude caught the guy cold in the first minute then iced him along the ropes.

I feel like Panchy. "Did this really happened or did I imagined it?"
