VITALI Klitschko, Ukraine's former world heavyweight boxing champion who was due to face American Jameel McCline in Munich on September 22, has undergone spinal surgery in an Austria clinic, a source told AFP overnight.

Vitali is just a fucking dick-head. I hope he ends up in a wheel-chair.

Well, he has a 50/50 shot at recovery. I don't know if it's a good idea to try and come back to a sport like boxing after his surgery, WHATEVER type it is.

Now that I think about it. Out of all the big fights, Taylor-Pavlik, Mayweather-Hatton, Calzaghe-Kessler, Cotto-Mosley,...the Calzaghe-Kessler fight is the most likely to be postponed. Kessler has had back problems on and off in recent years, and Joe breaks a hand everytime he turns a door knob or so it seems. Hate to say it, but I wouldn't be surprised...

yep. that's as likely scenario as any. there should be an investigation into all of these cancellations. isn't it illegal somehow to cancel an event just because you can't sell enough tickets? if not, why don't they just tell us the truth: "it's being cancelled because we didn't sell enough tickets."

So Vitali's undergoing surgery to get a spine. How fitting.

Irrelevant fight, anyway. No big loss in the grand scheme of things.

What is fucked up, though, is that for all of the cancellations we have this month, the only major stateside cards to be aired both take place on the same night (Sept 29). Too bad they can't bump one up a week

It's good that more and more boxing-related people realize what a bunch of fucking scumbags Quitko brothers are.....

The cancellations suck, but so far it's been the less interesting fights, IMO.

If any of the fights (Diaz-Diaz, Pac-MAB 2, and especially PBF-Hatton, Cotto-Mosley, Kessler-Calzaghe, and Taylor-Pavlik) are cancelled or postponed, then I'll be very mad.

it was a worthless fight anyway :dunno:

I'm just glad Vitali didn't land the Makaev fight instead of Peter cause it would be Vitali/Peter being cancelled right now.

Vitali should just go away for good and same with McCline. Didn't he break his leg when he fought Valuev?:dunno:
