I'm surprised nobody talks about this fight here. I think it's an interesting fight, it could be a surprisingly entertaining fight IMO. I wonder how the weight loss will affect Dawson. He's lean and athletic but losing weight to make the weight limit of a lower division is always harder than gaining weight. How do you think the fight will go?
Its an intriguing rather than interesting fight. Just like our laundry powders, we wonder will it work at 30 degrees and under. Likewise, Ward wonders if his magic non-biological powders will work at 175 and on coloureds instead of just whites. :crafty:
:: Have you seen Doorson fight before? He's a negative creep. It's like watching a plank of wood with boxing gloves. Hideous fighter. I think Ward gives him a 1 sided beating by way of being a much better fighter in every way.
Yeah, that's why I wrote "surprisingly entertaining". It could be a total snoozer though, I know that. I think Ward has a style that might force Dawson into a fight. Dawson has a lot of tools, he just lacks the toolbox. Who knows, he might put it all together and give Ward a hell of a fight. As you see, I try to stay positive even though the current state of boxing is totally depressing. :blackcloud:
Yes, I recall Dawson saying something about that ........"I've been feeling fat recently, and despite having fought the best fights of my career at 175, I thank the Lord for this chance to sweat down to 168lbs, and make something of my life for once. The Lord once went 40 days and 40 nights without any food or drink, and now I shall do likewise" :bears:
It's like watching a man fight an anaconda. You pretty much know the outcome, but you want to watch anyways.
In actual fact.....After the Pascal fight i swore id never watch that waster again and I plan to keep my promise to myself. Let me know how it goes
There is a 4% chance this fight will be watchable. Two boring retards who can't fight for shit. They exemplify the "modern" fighter. Soul train dance moves, speedy substanceless amateurish punches, and excessive holding. I hope it is a double kayo.
If Dawson wasn't a shitebag he's be a contender for p4p no1. But he's the American audley Harisson only slightly better
Don't know if he is better. Dawson is shit. He is talented but can't fight. He is terrified to fight actually. That is why he doesn't throw punches.
I don't know where Doorson comes from, but that has got to be the worst nickname ever. What does that even mean? And FreeIke must just hate boxing. Saying Ward and Dawson can't fight? If they can't fight nobody can. Especially Ward, he's the best at 168 by a mile and has beaten everyone who matters. Dawson is boring, but he can fight too.
Dawson is a contender for p4p no 1 and he's so far ahead of Harrison in professional accomplishments that it's really a stretch to compare them. If Dawson beats Ward clearly, where does he fall on the p4p lists? Imo, you could make a solid argument for #1. There are others who could be ranked ahead of him, of course, but he'd be right there with them. Generally, when a guy goes down in weight, it's not while he is in his prime. It adds a level of intrigue to this fight for Dawson to do it right now. Oh, for the record, I'm picking Ward, but without too much confidence. I think both are superb fighters.
I don't remember Dawson quitting or jumping out of the ring. You're not being honest here I am afraid.
Guys like Cintron or Ortiz are front runners - Dawson just clearly hates fighting. Full stop. It's one thing to quit when the going gets tough, another to refuse to even go when the going's easy.
:: at the idea of Doorson being anywhere near P4P #1. Quel surprise that such a nonsensical statement would come from mikE ( :atu: ). If Doorson is P4P #1 then Glencoffe and Pascal are both top 10 all time P4P.
