Jake was joking. Wayne has always fought bums...Zaragoza, Morales, Hamed, Bredahl, Jake was just alluding to this.:nono:
I got my ringside ticket, really looking forward to see the rocket back in action. Fagan is on the bill too, I only ever saw clips but he looks a decent fighter.
Oisin Fagan??? He took Spadafora the distance. He must be semi-decent. The one kid I would pay to see fight is Matthew Macklin.
You wouldn't be charged any more to attend a proper card at the Garden mate. This is the Point Depot, featuring IBO starlet Bern-hard Done-in-1 and friends. I'd sooner walk up to Leeson canal with me $50 and take me chances...:: :: I was training last night {met Katie Taylor no less!!} and the guy who drove me home said those cards go on all night!! BTW every bag in the Gym last night was a mick dowling bag:nono: I'm sooo out of shape....
I agree they are over priced, but this card has wayne and fagan... thats not bad. Dont get me started on the point its a hell hole but its the best we got right now, its getting knocked soon anyway. Was talyor training, was she impressive? I need something strong enough to hold the bag..:dunno:
I didn't get to see her train...she trains after we do, I'm in an intermediate class, she is in the Seniors, and from 6pm-7pm is kids. Her father had the kids doing this exercise where they just spin as fast as they can around in a circle with 1 finger in the air before stopping on a dime and shadowboxing. She came in after us, she's tiny........I shook her hand, she has a real weak handshake but she's deceptive.:nono: One thing I will say is that the lads I trained with were so-so on the bags. When I'm in shape I'll be well ahead of them. :crafty:
Buy a heavier heavy bag. You won't need anyone to hold it for you, and if you do, you should turn pro! Alternatively, ask Mick about a floor to ceiling ball. They are no end of fun and are a relief on your wrists. Did you ever think of getting a bam-man??
You should single out Romanians and just hit them. If they get up, you can ask them if they want a job holding the bag. If they don't get up, turn pro.:: :crafty:
    Have the tickets been sold? Course they have. Will there be a refund?? Course there won't. Paddywhackery all the way. McCullough was due to fight at the Point Depot in Dublin on Saturday week but he has decided to stay at home in Las Vegas amid uncertainty about the arrangement of a suitable opponent. And then, if you read on......... The fight with Walstad will see Dunne make the second defence of his European super bantamweight title on what promises to be a great night of boxing. Oh really? Well it must have been a fucking magnificent night in the offing with Wayne on the undercard. No mention of a refund, instead.....tickets priced from €60 are available from Ticketmaster. Wayne won't fight because the promoters won't pay a decent-name opponent to come over here and fight him, and Wayne WON'T fight some scrub for the benefit of the fans. He is trying to get his career going...not pull the balls out of it.
Pretty much, Wayne still fancies himself on the world stage, no matter how misguided that may seem; he's probably not interested in lining the pockets of some irish promoter just so that he can get a shot at the european champon somewhere down the line... It may be the begrudger in me, but I'd love it (Keegan style) if that Norwegian guy KTFO Dunne, just to see the expression in Peters and Magee's faces...
They'd still have Jim Rock.:nono: I would love it too.....just so it saved Bernards ass somewhere down the line. Wayne is right to walk out on these fucks, he knows its a freak show, and he's not prepared to be anybodies performing clown.
