When is the best time to do your weight training, for example in the morning before you do any cardo, bag work or sparring or after sparing/card?.

Or would it better to alternate days?

Weight training for boxing is a bit different, and it should definitely be done on alternating days.

If you spar in the afternoon, you won't be able to hit the weights hard afterwards. I'd recommend doing your weights in the morning if you can. That way you are fresh and you can rest afterwards...before you spar in the evening or afternoon.

If your just training on your own (ie there isn't any specific time your scheduled to do your boxing training), cardio work is allot easier than weight training to do early in the morning on an empty stomach.

But if your at a gym and have to train later in the day theres no way anyone could manage an intense weight session directly after sparring, bag work etc (I can barely drag myself home most days), so if your doing that on a given day you'd have to fit in your weight training in the morning. If your hitting the bag and sparring most days cut weight training down to 3x MAX, preferably 2 and alternate between max strength and explosive strength days. Add in some dumbell swings, dumbell snatches and dumbell clean and presses into your routine for posterier chain strength.

How many days a week are you sparring? The days you spar, you can work the weight training around it.
