Its weekends like these that makes me thankful that MMA is around as well. It helps eliminate shitty fight weekends.

The UFC card Saturday night will supply me with my "fix".

Thats why is great to be a fan of both!

Well boxing is in a lull now and that is a good point.
It is down times like these that I use to renew my history by reading and watching tapes in my off time, and enjoying some quality family time.
I like the UFC as well, and those fighters are terrific athletes.

It's on PPV if you have direct TV I believe. if you just have cable I don;t think it is on regular PPV.

Cazares-Calderon is a great fight to look forward to if you follow the lower weights. I agree in general that it's a slow boxing week, but I wouldn't miss this fight if it were on cable rather than PPV.

I think there is an Extreme XC mma card on showtime this weekend, too.

Boxing shows more product than a normal person can watch. I don't mind slow weekends at all these days because they are uncommon.

Well, I'll be watching/recording ESPN2, telefutura, telemundo, and TyC on Friday. And TyC again on Saturday if the schedule is right.

And usually I'd get the ppv, but I don't think I am.

    That's 'slow'. haha

I tend to agree. The boxing market is a bit over-saturated...that's part of the reason why the UFC does such good numbers...because fans know they only really have to tune in once or twice a month.

August always tends to be a slow boxing month, so it's expected...things always pick up in September.

The UFC hasn't had a card in over a month. It's been a pretty slow few weeks for MMA too. I like the card though, I'm up for Couture/Gonzaga. Funny enough, Couture is fighting a guy almost young enough to be his son. 44 vs 27. I just wonder how much longer Couture can go for. He's fighting a big boy with some quality power and tremendous submission base. I say Couture will gain the decision over 5 rounds.

Unless it's a ppv like Floyd/Baldomir. I don't think we ever need to see crap like that ever.
