Seems to be allot of welterweight match ups lately between second echelon guys. Lets settle this thing! Who's the king of the lower tier modern welter greats?

    Round 1)

    Vernon Forrest vs Pipino Cuevas

    Ike Quartey vs Felix Trinidad

    Milton McCrory vs Antonio Margarito

    Carlos Palomino vs Paul Williams

    Marlon Starling vs Miguel Cotto

    Shane Mosley vs Pernel Whitaker

First to 3 votes in each match up wins, 6 winners go into 2 groups of 3. Winners of each group in the final.

Forrest vs Cuevas- Provided Vernon keeps his head and doesn't get caught in any machismo games like he did with Mayorga, he should soundly outbox Cuevas and possibly stop him late.

Trinidad vs Quartey- Ike starts strong and gives Tito hell with his jab and physical strength. But by the mid rounds Trinidad will start landing the hooks and uppercuts and his power will tell the difference. He'll score a late rounds stoppage over Quartey.

MCCrory vs Margarito- Milt should outbox with ease. Tony is a zombie and his punches are so slow its comical. McCrory via easy decision.

Palomino vs Williams- Action fight. Palmino is a better technician though and a smarter fighter. He'd decision tall Paul in a good fight.

Starling vs Cotto- Starling outslicks Cotto en route to a UD.

Mosley vs Whitaker- Whitaker outslicks Mosley to win a close decision win.
