I ask this question because he's always talking about hanging up the gloves. Now I usually take that with a greain of salt knowing how Floyd, knowing how he is. Its almost a given that every fighter loses. However given the likelihood that he might not stay the game that long, and how good he is, what is the likelihood he retires with a permanent 0 in the loss column?.
I've thought about this too actually. And I think there's a pretty big chance that he does, unfortunately :: If I had to bet on it, I'd say he beats Cotto soon, retires undefeated, then comes back in his mid thirties and loses, like Ray Leonard. But there's a big chance that he retires soon undefeated, yes. The bigger question is whether he comes back and loses.
agREED... REED can See Floyd Retiring Undefeated, but his EGO Won't Allow him STAY Retired, Sit Back & Watch Somebody Take Over his Spot... Floyd's Enjoying THE HELL Out of his 15 Minutes of Fame, but the INSTANT he Stops Boxing, Nobody will Give a Shit about him...THAT & the Fact that Someone Else will ASSume his Position will Lead Floyd into RETURNING To Boxing, w/DIMINISHED Skills & LOSING... REED
Bang on. Like I said, if I had to bet on it, that's what I would bet on happening. The thing is, for all this talk about retiring etc, for Floyd's WHOLE career he's wanted to be a superstar, and now he is. Like you said, if he retires undefeated, it won't be long before nobody gives a shit about him, and he starts to miss being in the limelight.
Floyd will be defeated soon enough. He takes on top opposition, time after time, champ after champ, again and again....No matter how good a fighter is, he can't continue fighting such top-level opposition and remain undefeated forever.......
Floyd will retire undefeated because he will retire after he fights Oscar. I hope to god Oscar knocks his ass out though for being a pussy and fighting Oscar again when there are more relevant opponents out there.
<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1> <!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->He has ZERO chance of retiring with a loss. THey should just put him straight into the boxing hall of fame and then declare him as the greatest champion to retire undefeated.
I don't think he will. I'll always believe that a champ will fight on too long until he's a shell of what he once was. It's like a sad boxing tradition.
Bad as I hate to say it......Floyd is probably the best pure fighter I've ever seen. No weaknesses there. Even Cotto loses to him. Shame that he didn't come along during the era of Pryor, Arguello, Leonard and Hearns though.
He probably would have beat Arguello, ducked Pryor... and then make the move to 147 for a mega fight with Pipino Cuevas.
i think the chances are pretty high, but then again, he loves the money....and as long as he loves the money he'll be tempted to fight for it......it could well get the better of him.
It's funny but when you think about it, you're probably right:laughing:  and this is coming from a PBF fan!::
Floyd will end up broke, sooner or later. He'll fight well into his 40's, and probably have 6 or 7 losses before it's over. Because he has to. TFK
agree you simply cant spend money likethat and stay wealthy... no wait im sure philthy rich records is perpetually profitable...
As a Black Man, REED is EMBARRASSED that this is Considered "News" Worthy...MORESO, REED is EMBARRASSED that Some DUMBASS would ALLOW Himself to B QUOTED Saying what he Did ... REED has ALWAYS Questioned the LEGITIMACY of Floyd & Fiddy's "Friendship"...It Always Seemed 2 B More of a MEDIA "Friendship" than Anything REAL... So it's NOT Surprising that they had this Sort of Disagreement... REED
