I don't know about you guys, but when I think of boxing history, decades, years etc. there is some image that pops into my mind quickly. For example if someone mentions year 1974, I immediately think about Ali-Foreman, before remembering else. So what is the picture you guys think of the following decades (could be a fighter, fight, situation of a fight or whatever)

    1950s
    1960s
    1970s
    1980s
    1990s
    2000s

    My answers

    1950s: Rocky Marciano
    1960s: Clay-Liston
1970s: Sugar Ray Leonard (I hate this one)
1980s: Mike Tyson with Don King
1990s: The picture or Holyfield having a hole in his ear
    2000s: Vitali's injury against Lewis

60s - Ali posing over Liston in the rematch.
70s - Foreman attempting to lift his head off the canvas in Zaire.
80s - Shortly before stopping Hearns, Leonard lifted his hands in victory as Tommy stumbled backwards. This was really tough between that moment and the second half of round 7 in Leonard/Duran II. Leonard was giving DURAN the RJJ/Richard Hall treatment.
90s - Tough. Do you go with the look on Meldrick Taylor's face after Richard Steele stopped his fight with Chavez? How about Tyson scrambling for his mouthpiece in Japan? Also, as mentioned, Holyfield's ear? I'll go with a strong stink at the end of the decade.... LLs reaction to the draw vs. Holyfield.
00s - Easiest for me. LL KO 4 Rahman. That ending turned me from someone who liked boxing and knew the huge names, to someone who would never, ever miss a big fight again. Boxing became my passion that night.

Oh sorry, 50s is that famous picture of Jersey Joe eating a punch from Rocky. I'm told that contrary to popular belief it isn't the KO shot.

    Stream of consciousness -

1950s Ageing Robinson and Raging Bull (I know thats not accurate but that the image it evokes)
1960s Ali and white shorts with black trim
1970s Duran and Latino fighters with longer hair
    1980s Hagler-Hearns & black glistening skin.
1990s Tyson-Holyfield and flashing lights above the ring
2000s Morales-Barrera and red shiny ropes (no idea why on the last one)
