He is fucked for the rest of the year. Pacquiao fighiting Barrera and JMM fighting Barrios. I wonder if Arum will do right by him and get him a decent fight to finishi the year. opcorn:
well you can't even compare the payday fighting Barrera to fighting Soto. by the way when did Soto become today's best? he has potentianl but his biggest win at 130 is Bobby. sorry but beating his brother shouldn't get him a fight with manny. That Is why I wanna see Arum try to get Soto a fight with Guzman or Valero. Beat one of them guys and bring something to the table.
That will start mid-year actually. He'll beat Fagquez early 2008 and then get Guzman or Soto. This is Arum's plan. The Barrera fight was more of a "peace offering" by both sides to reach the settlement between G and Top Rank. It had to be done. JMM on the otherhand hand picked Barios. That's shameful as fuck. ::
I'd love to see Soto, Guzman and Valero fight each other. Pacquiao vs. any of them would be great too. Way better than MAB. But point taken on the payday.
yeah because JMM calls the shots at Goldenboy promotions. He tells Oscar what's what. :: JMM would be fighting Pacquiao but Manny didn't want to be the mandatory so left his mandatory spot. which I understand it didn't make sense money wise but just so we all know JMM was willing and able and it was Arum and Manny who said no. Next would have been Soto but again Arum played him and now he has no fight for the rest of the year. So the #1 and #2 mandatories for JMM didn't wanna bother.
Exactly. When Pacquiao offered the rematch directly after the first fight, what was JMM's excuse for declining? I'm inclined to say fear because it couldn't have been money. He went to Indonesia to make $30,000 to give his belts away shortly afterward.
Shortly afterward? The fight was two years after the Pacquiao fight. :dunno: The reasons for Nacho Beristain turning the offer down have been well reporterd in the time since it happened.
Actually it was less than 2 years, stop trying to lie. The reason Fagquez's camp turned it down is because they knew they couldn't win it. You're just wrong and simply don't know much about boxing.
Barrios?,...:eeeek: Barrios?....:eeeek: Oh my god Latinking!,..talk about squeezing the fucking teats of an alphabet strap!,..Felix Sturm will eat the guardians, Juan Manuel Marquez will eat the children. You poor chick.
This is actually very familiar behavior for Fagquez. When he was a featherweight belt holder he took on soft touches like Marcos Licona, Hector Javier Marquez, and went life and death with Orlando Salido.
Trying to lie? He fought Pacquiao in '04 and John in '06. I agree I don't know much about boxing though. However, I disagree if you think you do.
You said it was 2 years, when in reality it was less. That makes your whole post shit except for the above part.
It was two years later. I love how that makes my post shit, but saying it was "shortly afterward" means you have a fucking clue.
So basically you concede that it wasn't 2 years? That is what people usually do when they start picking out spelling errors. They admit that they have conceded the original point.
Marquez-Pacquiao occured in the calendar year of 2004, John-Marquez didn't happen until the calendar year 2006.
So if I fought on December 31 2004, and fought again on Janurary 1 2006, would that be 2 years in between fights?
Nice attempt there, champ. I said "The fight was two years after the Pacquiao fight." It was two calendar years after the Pacquiao fight.
life and death with Orlando Salido? dude you need to actually start watching boxing fights instead of using those two hicks from boxingforeal to get your info. At 126 Marquez won the WBA and IBF world tittles. and schooled your boy who to some was considered the people's champ. (whatever that WWE bullshit means) At 130 he jsut took the tittle from Barrera. Your boy fought 3 guys coming off losses to get fighter of the year and recently fought a tomato can. And you can brag about Pacquiao destroying Barrera years ago and JMM just beat him yet Pacquiao is fighting him again. I guess all of a sudden Barrera is back to prime form ::
what about barrios? I said it from day one I don't like that fight. JMM will school him with ease. :kick: The fact is the rematch with Pacquiao could be happening in September buy Pacquiao didn't want it. If the financial reasons help you sleep better so be it but JMM was ready and willing. Yet somehow Pacquiao is happy to pay sancioning fees for that shitty regional WBC tittle like the one chavez jr. carries.::
Yes Fagquez had quite a bit of trouble with Salido, who is basically a journeyman. I can tell you haven't watched the fight. Salido was competitive with Fagquez. The Pac-Barrera II match is a peace offering by both sides to test the waters in a joint promotion, I don't know how that isn't obvious, Arum and Schaefer basically conceded this. You simply don't know much about the boxing business. :dunno: When Fagquez was "offering" the fight to Pacquiao this year, G and Arum were still in litigation, and the only way the fight would've been made would be by purse bid (of which Pacquiao would take 25% according to WBC rules because he didn't hold the trinkets). That would be a ridiculous way to conduct the rematch seeing as Fagquez isn't the draw, I doubt Fagquez could sell out a small arena in Tiajuana, Mexico, let alone the Mandalay Bay or Thomas and Mack Center. So basically it was Fagquez's way of saying "I don't want to fight Pacquiao" making it TWO TIMES that Fagquez has ducked a rematch with Pac. But of course you wouldn't know anything about that because your knowledge about boxing is pretty barebones. The time when the rematch made the most sense was after the first fight when Fagquez was offered career high purse (at the time) for his participation. But Fagquez bowed out when all the conditions were right. It was probably a combination of fear and uncertainty. Fagquez knew he lost the first fight and barely got out of it with a draw (due to a scoring error by one judge). Fagquez also had a pretty badly broken nose. ::
Orlando salido is not just "basically a journeyman" and no, Marquez did not have any trouble with him, it was an exceptionally boring fight in fact. I guess we'll file that alongside Chris John dominating JMM as further evidence that you would rather talk shit about marquez rather than watch the fights.:notallthere:
