What fighters do you think fight like each of the following guys? What fighters remind you or are reminiscent of these guys? -Boom Boom Mancini -JL Castillo -Julio Gonzalez -David Diaz -Mike McCallum -Paul Ingle
Mancini - Katsidis. Kat is a poor man's version of Ray. Castillo - Well Castillo fought LIKE Chavez... only a very poor man's version. Julio Gonzalez - I dunno. Maybe Andrade? David Diaz - Bum McCallum - Hmm... cant really think of anyone atm who's style is similar to the body snatcher. Paul Ingle - Dunno
"Poor man's Chavez" is an apt description of Castillo, yes. Alexis Arguello used to remind me a lot of Joe Louis when the former was coming along & building his image. Similarly, a young Felix Trinidad harkens back to Danny Lopez in my mind.
Interesting - a prime Trinidad always reminded me of Louis. Trinidad always struck me as more organized and with much better technique than Danny Lopez.
I thought his technique & organisation, though, were well behind Louis. I could see where the general comparison between Louis & Trinidad comes from, though.
There are some similarities. Of course, if anyone's contending Trinidad is in any way comparable to Louis on a level of greatness, I would strongly challenge, to say the least. These comparisons can be made independent of any disparity between how great the fighters are, though, I think.
the age old question that boxing fans will ponder for decades: who fights like paul ingle, david diaz and julio gonzalez?
I'm tired of reading this. Castillo fights NOTHING like Chavez. They both throw alot of body shots and that's it. Just because he was the man's sparring partner doesn't mean he fights like him.
There are more similarities than body shots. Nobody is saying that they are mirror images (i'm not sure which two fighters are) but to state that they fight NOTHING alike is wrong.
