If he didn't have that 7/10 power but instead that 2/10 Byrd punch? What is his record then?

He woulda been retired already. Somebody would have to convince him that boxing isn't the right sport for him.

If you're as inept as Wilder is at boxing, and you DON'T have awesome power, then you're not gonna win many, if any fights.

A better question: What would Byrd’s record be if he’d had Wilder’s power? Are we not looking an all time great?

Funniest thing is that one of the most painful punches Vitali Klitschko ever took came from the fists of Chris Byrd. A body shot that took the wind out of Vitali momentarily and made him back up. As they say, it's the punch you don't see coming...

Who'd win between Wilder and a 1999 Michael Grant?

I actually used to wonder that one myself. I think Grant because as green as he was he was still far ahead of Wilder when it came to boxing skills and I think they would be pretty even in size and power.

If you take a look at any fighter and mythically fix their greatest weakness it would seem you could make an awesome fighter or in some cases a seemingly unbeatable one. Common examples are Hearns with a granite chin or Whitaker with power. The thing is both those guys likely would have been different fighters from what we've seen. It's possible they would have been even less successful.

Nah...imagine Byrd doing defense and countering with Tyson type power. He'd be a legend. Nobody is saying they should give up what got them to the dance in the first place we're just adding cherry on top. So for for this hypothetical scenario we will act as if the new added attribute doesn't go straight to their head and changes their style.
