What an ego on Kellerman:shit: instead of trying to sell a potential fight,he decided to try and sell himself:shit: Floyd was right,Max was talking waaaay to much.

Merchants all about theatrics and he would of had no problem just shutting his mouth and letting them hype a potential big money fight between two WELTERWEIGHTS.

    Thanks Max:shit:

Yeah but one minute had passed before Mosely turned up, had it been Merchant how do you know Fraud wouldnt have been jumping up and down bawling like Donald duck and boycotting that whole delicious scene? .. you cant ask for too much,..it's one or the other,.. preferably, I liked the Mosely owning better than your garden variety post-Baldomir.

Max is a big UFC fan. Next time he watches he should take notes on how Rogan sells future fights.

Merchant sucked and there is a lot of selective memory going on in this thread.

Not only Merchant would of handled it easy,he would of made it even more comical. I mean come one, imagine what Merchant would of done or said if Floyd stepped up and said "You talk too much Larry".

You mean about the shutting his mouth and letting them talk?

Sometimes that depended on the fighter and the circumstance...and Merchant isn't the biggest Mayweather fan and is rather partial to Mosley (something that dates back to even before he stepped in the ring against Holiday)... he might've just turned around and started interviewing Shane at that point...or just handed him the mic.

I do think Merchant would've pushed Mayweather harder on the weight issue...but he might've just disengaged during the broadcast and finished it with a "so what" or something, if he was even still watching when the final bell rang.

Interview was probably ended by producer, not Max.

Kellerman needs to go back to ESPN Friday Night Fights studio where he belongs.

Complete agreement. Kellermans with his big googly eyes pissed me off...and he wouldnt shut the fuck like the public gave a crap about what he had to say.

Max has a big ego. He never let Mayweather respond to Mosley and thats what pisses the fans off. He definitely needs to humble himself a little bit and realize that he is not the star.

Merchant shut down plenty of fighters when they went off on rants.
HBO (Merchant) always shut down Don King even though he was providing them with the best matches of the time. I thought that was bullshit because King is fun to listen to. At least as enjoyable as Floyd.

That's all Max was doing-trying to take control of the interview. He would be getting criticized by most of you same people (i'm guessing) if he had let Floyd go off on a rant and not tried to control the interview.

I think it was Max's idea, but Mr. Roboto might be correct--it may have been a producer telling him to shut Floyd down.

Anyway, I think Max has evolved into an excellent announcer. Not perfect, but he is insightful and a lot of his worst flaws have been toned down.

I thought it was funny when Kellerman described his bias as a, "love for pure boxers."

    Ok.

Is it any surprise that Kellerman couldn't handle the situation in the ring?

The only purpose he seems to have in there after a fight is to kiss up a little bit and then name-drop whatever name he's supposed to and then stand back and let the fighter say his part.

So far, Hatton (after the Lazcano fight) seems to be the one who has done that part the best...but I may be forgetting some others.

He is a good com, I also respect the fact that he appreciates mma as well, unlike the other boxing guys.

If I were Kellerman I would have let them idiots argue on live tv to sell the hell out of a potential fight. Shit I would have instigated while they went at it
