Cotto is a huge underdog against two of his countrymen: Benitez and Trinidad. Which of two would you give him a better shot of pulling the unlikely upset?

Cotto would be pushing 160 lbs against a teenaged Benitez

Cotto would get brutally khtfko against Tito because he would eventually trade left hooks with him

Both are bad match ups for different reasons.

Benitez has height and reach, and the gap in skill and ring IQ is simply too wide for Cotto to be able to implement what he does best. Cotto might see the final bell but he’d lose via very wide scores.

Trinidad on the other hand, simply has too much fire power and stamina for Cotto, who tends to fade late. It would be slightly more competitive in the sense that Cotto would win some rounds, but he’d pay a worse physical price for doing so. Tito KO 9
