So think in terms of a video game in which all of the attributes for a fighter are at max...which TWO fighters can you think of that if you combined their best attributes would make the most unbeatable fighter?

See if you can be the first to come up with a pairing that beats everyone else's....for any given weight class

    I'll start:

Heavyweight: Muhammad Ali (pre-Exile) and Joe Louis
Light Heavyweight: Roy Jones and Ezzard Charles
Middleweight: Roy Jones and Marvin Hagler
Welterweight: Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao
Lightweight: Roberto Duran and Pernell Whitaker
Featherweight: Naseem Hamed and Willie Pep

Good one. He would certainly have a prodigious combination of SIZE, chin, toughness, power and offensive talent.

But Louis+Ali....has the footspeed, handspeed, defense as well as POWER, chin, toughness and offensive talent.

Vitali+Wlad only has the size advantage.

So Ali+Louis is still the best Heavyweight offering....

While this is an interesting point of view, in my opinion it has the same problem as p4p matchups really. Imagine a heavyweight combination of Tyson and Valuev, so Valuev with Tyson's upper body movement, uppercuts etc. Would such thing be an offensive fighter or stay back and jab and which would be better?

Same with Whitaker and Hearns for example: the physical abilities would be there, but they also define the way a fighter fights and thus would change him completely.

    Jeeeeeez!

Just FOR YOU i deliberately kept the topic in separate weight classes (my initially thought was to make it P4P) and you STILL find a reason to over-think it and find a problem!:giggle:
Let it be as simple as this:

Whitaker and Hearns combined...would simply be Thomas hearns (Height reach power handspeed and style of fighting) with Whitaker's chin and defensive abilities.

Please don't make it too complicated. Have fun.

A fighter build like Hearns can not have Whitaker's defensive abilities :stir:

All I am saying is, the thread of "fix one weakness of a fighter" worked better in this same thing. But I won't interfere more

    Why not?

They said a 200+ pounds heavyweight could never move like a Welterweight...yet, along came Cassius Marcellus Clay...

BULLSHIT...the overrating of Robinson is undisputed...so sloooooowww it down a bit..

Hearns and Leonard Combined would EMBARRASS Sugar Ray Robinson and knock him the fuck out.

Robinson was great...but don't get it twisted, he was far from perfect.

Myth that Robinson was everything Leonard was..plus punching power.

Before long people are going to start saying that Robinson was everything Ali was, plus power...or everything Hearns was, plus chin.

I'm beginning to believe that Robinson was an android...

I don't care about people criticizing or insulting Mayweather...he's not my family. I get irritated when people ACT like I think Floyd is the saviour or something. Can't a guy be a fan of a fighter's talent without being accused of worshipping him?

The only difference between my respect for Floyd's skills and your respect for Robinson's...is that Floyd is hated and Robinson is loved.

Watching them from videotapes, I just can not agree. To me it is impossible to see SRR actually defeating SRL even though he obviously had the better career.

    Agreed.

Ray Robinson is turning into a myth. Next I'll read that he was made of bronze, except for his heel...

SRR and SRL are great, so are PBF and Pacquiao. P4P RJJ stops all of them.

Thank you. I don't know why Xplosive and Illuminati get so offended at the mere mention of Mayweather and Pacquio's names..

At Junior Middleweight, I would nominate Julian Jackson combined with Pernell Whitaker (many forget that Pernell beat Julio Cesar Vasquez for his Jr. Middleweight bauble back in the early 90s).
