I'm shocked that this matchup has almost NEVER been done on here! Many I know believe that Taylor had the style to beat Pea, who agrees or disagrees with that?
i can recall this match-up being discussed before at least once. and also i recall that it was nearly unanimous that Taylor would win. and i agree. taylor wins because of his hand-speed, his combination punching, his ability to stay busy, his aggression, along with Whitaker's absence of real punching power.
whitaker punched hard enough to get your attention. he would keep that jab in taylor's face and would also land to the body often. it's a tough competitive fight imo. no one dominates whitaker.
i'm not saying he dominates him. but i think he had the tools to beat him, and to overcome Whitaker's awkward angles and turning.
Taylor has too many punches. I think he can very well outpoint Whitaker. It will be a very close fight but I give the edge to Taylor.
