Firstly, as long as Hillary does not usurp the voters of this country with special interests and super delegates I will feel ok. If Hillary wins the dem spot at this point then we do not have any vestige of free elections left in this country.... not even the illusion of a free election. 1. Obama is by all looks a decent chap with good political acumen. I would also love to have lived when the first African American president was elected in this country. Problem is that Obama is inheriting a real mess and there is a chance that like Carter, who took the fall for a horrible administrations policies, he will take the fall for Bush's horrible presidency. For example David Dinken's was, like Obama a decent guy who was Black and took the reigns of New York after a horrible administration and because of it he took a lot of flack. Obama is coming in during a recession where Bush has left the country in great debt and great peril. 2. I am perfectly willing to let Mccaine try to clean Bush's mess up with more of the same.... yes he may get to elect a supreme court judge in the process but when Mccaine leaves office he will take the fall for Bush and this country will probably abolish the Republican party.... It will become unelectable and smaller candidates like Paul might have a chance through the internet to make a difference. Also, if Obama has a good run and loses he might have another run and be in a position where people can see that 3 terms of republican leadership has destroyed the country... In this respect I agree with Hairy that Obama getting a little seasoning on the woodpile might make him ultimately a strong president that is electable next election. Either trajectory is fine by me.
boy for someone who claims to have logical opinions I'm not sure how you can justify picking a Bush Clone over ANYONE else. This isn't McCain running in 2000, have you fucking heard this guy in the last 8 years?
Obama. Hilary is a fucking dead eyed lizard creature, she gives me the heeby jeepys. And of course McCain is a republican.
dsimon writes: Its amaing how much MCcaine has changed his tune. This does not seem to worry people. I have no doubt that MCcaine will follow through on Bush's vision..... My only hope is that if we still have a country when he leaves, the Republicans are literally run out of Washington. Then people from your generation junior can use the internet and other media to hopefully create a platform where popular support of a candidate translates as electability. I am not shitting you on this. A famous anarchist (Paul Wolf) used to argue that he was a libertarian until he realized that a truly participatory democracy was impossible! In his example... bear with me... Wolf said "when we have a tv where people can vote on every issue with the press of a button on the Tv, then we can have a true democracy." The internet is that TV! For the first time people can truly participate in government efficiently. I can see a situation where people can vote on issues regularly using the internet in this fashion. No not on every issue per se, but participation, regular participation can be attained using the internet and it may wind up effecting the popular vote and democratic process.
I don't like any of them ... as a matter of fact I HATE my choices here. It's like asking someone , which gun would you prefer to shoot yourself in the head with.
I am a firm believer in casting a vote for the best candidate even if it's a 'lesser of two evils' type of choice. But in this election, a choice between McCain and Obama is impossible to make. Both guys have so many negatives in so many different areas that it's insane. Amazing that, in this country of so many brilliant people, these are the best two candidates to lead the country. However, with ALL that being said, McCain is more qualified for the job due simply to experience. And realistically there is nothing else between these two that impresses me.
My thoughts and reason exactly. McCain will be a disaster , Hillary or Barack will be a total disaster. There's nothing good here. Hell , if not Paul , I'm hoping Bloomberg runs ...
It's saying that you'd pick the Republican...although he's more of a war monger than anyone else in the GOP and the polar opposite in this regard of your precious Ron Paul.
McCain Obama Hilary.... but this election i'll probably wont' vote...cause i don't give a shit about any of them.......
Again, if you don't vote..you can only blame youself and other non-voting people like youself...if Hillary (your third choice) wins. Was Ron paul your number one choice?
I plan on voting, since I believe it's part of my duty as being an American. I just won't vote for any of those three. TFK

There's only ONE candidate out there who I feel is ready to lead the country. The only one worth my vote. Yet, he's not running this time. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yZWmL0CrkmY"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yZWmL0CrkmY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
Who added the Elma Fudd part to the poll? That spoils the analysis of who the forum would choose if they had to, imo. Funny...but spoils what Lok wanted from the thread.
